Numero Cinco ,'The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I guess, since Cameron was back on "their" side, they decided that the safe identities they'd previously created could be used -- hence enough instant money to instantly rent a furnished house and send John to school.

(Now I REALLY want them to have to flee to Louisiana, and rent a house next door to the Riches. I want a bonding scene between Sarah and Shirene....)

What is even happening?

Psst, Cindy. Did you really mean to use the word "phased" (as opposed to fazed) in this line from the TWOP recaplet:

Fargo and Alison no longer seemed phased by Stark's death.

Frank, I used phased on purpose, because of the title.

And then, did you mean "reckless" or are you being all literarical in this post above:

No. That was just stupidity. Eek. But thanks, Narrator.

The full "Phased and Confused" recap is now up. There are plenty of errors in it, too. I just sent an e-mail to the editorial staff.

Interesting Guardian blog piece about Russell T. Davies and Doctor Who, with some speculation about possible future actors to play the Doctor. (I like the Harry Lloyd suggestion a lot, despite the fact that he's way too young...)

The new RTD book - actually a series of email exchanges - the piece refers to can be found here.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Cindy, I loved your recap!

More! Moar!

See, there was plenty to snark on whilst keeping the love.

So, like, Zoe/Zane could be, like, Zone. Or ZZ. *flees*

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

In reading those RTD e-mails, I see that Dennis Hopper is a Who fan and wanted to be on the show. He was originally going to be Mr. Copper in the Titanic ep, but wasn't available for the days necessary to film.

Compassionately intolerant

While I delight in Russell's original plan for this year's xmas episode, I'm glad it got kiboshed. It would have been a terribly shark-jumpy moment.

Whitefont for the not yet reads: JK Rowling fighting creatures of her own creation .

On one hand, clever! On the other, oh no. It would have been a fanpocalypse. Wonder why Tennant vetoed it though.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh, that would have been crazy fun, but I suppose it's better left as a hilarious fantasy.

Also, DW has to have jumped the shark multiple times by now. It's been on for years! It must have made friends with the damn shark.

I'd dig it if only for the fact that the CGI would be better than in the actual Harry Potter movies .

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm left with the mental image of Patrick Troughton water-skiing over a mechanical shark made of tinfoil, with William Hartnell steering the boat and telling him how he's doing it all wrong the whole way.

What is even happening?

Thanks, Juliebird

Heh, yeah and thank goodness. While I was coming down hard on the writers for the plot on paper -- I was silently blessing them for having an off week during my week.
