Rewatching the last 15 minutes of Meat reminded me that Owen was a big damn hero with the sedation, and unusually human with his reactions. It's almost like they want me to like him before they kill him. Love Rhys and Gwen at the end. World of awwww.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Yeah, but wasn't the whole existence of the alien based on him existing in people's memories, which he would still, if barely, in Rhys'?
Possible I missed some stuff, because I am sick in bed.
Irritated at the poor Tosh stuff. Sleep with someone who's not an alien, Tosh!
Also, freeing Owen of his cynicism makes his vision bad? Personal hot button, but I hate that glasses are the only signifier of weakness.

Heh. I like the theory (too lazy to page back) that Owen always needs glasses, but he's too concerned with his own self-image the rest of the time to wear them.
I've been thinking about the Jack/Gwen thing alot.
I have always thought that she was special to him from the beginning. In the first episode he told her about the not being able to die thing, of course she saw the result, but that was something that he hadn't revealed to the rest of the team. In fact, he has confided in her more than it seems he has in Ianto.
I was sure it was all on him, but Gwen telling him that she loves him has confused me about the whole thing.
I have Wonderconned. Summer Glau is WAY more popular than anyone else on SCC, and everyone knows it but is mostly good-natured about it, except I suspect Thomas Dekker finds it a bit annoying. His hair is even more annoyingly in his face in RL than it is on the television screen. Also, he wants to do more stunts and fight scenes.
The panel moderator was an inoffensive but not particularly insightful guy from TV Guide (not Fonebone), who asked bland questions that didn't get a lot of meaningful stuff from the cast or writers on the panels. The one thing I found interesting was that Josh Friedman was asked about continuity and consistency with the films, and his response was basically that they weren't trying to be consistent with the films, because they'd make their heads explode trying, and the films weren't even consistent within themselves.
There was also an indication that they consider these to be independent timelines.
Also, I made PC ask about Teresa Dyson, and Friedman said we'd see her again.
And Summer Glau is lovely. And does most of her own stunts. She likes flying through breakaway walls.
As for the Jericho panel, they actually showed us a new episode, which was cool. On the panel were Hawkins, Stanley and Mimi, and the executive producer.
There was a great deal of pandering (I felt) to the fans about the nuts campaign, and that got a bit old for me. Nobody mentioned writing to the advertisers as an alternative to sending crap to the network. And apparently the Obama campaign has contacted the guy who came up with the nuts campaign. (I can hear Allyson's head exploding from here.)
(I was surprised at how peeved I was about the way they all seemed to think this was the first time omg that any grassroots campaign for a television show had gotten any traction. Hello, ST:TOS? LFN? Roswell, Farscape, Firefly? Eh.)
OTOH, Lennie James, who plays Hawkins, is really pretty awesome (Nutty, you're right, he's a Brit), and Alicia Coppola is just as pretty and freckled in person as she is on the screen, if shorter. Everyone's always shorter in person...

Really? Cause she used to be on one of my soaps, and she seemed like six foot tall. I mean, probably, on soaps, all the men are itty bitty.

Which one?
