"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Burn Gorman is absolutely brilliant in his transformation. Truly amazing. I know it's called acting, but he sure knows how to do it.

Indeed. Geeky Owen was hysterical. I actually kinda wish he could have stayed around. I'm also curious if Owen SHOULD wear glasses, but chooses to get along without.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Or wears contacts.

Oh, of course. Duh. I never think of contacts because I can't get around the squick of them for me (eye issues), which is why I've always worn glasses.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm very annoyed at BBC-America because their timing cut off the show just as Jack was pouring sand out of the box. Very likely that WAS the last shot, but then we also missed the promos. Feh.

Also, while Torchwood took the 48-hour Amnesia Cure, Rhys sure didn't, and wouldn't he be asking Gwen what happened to that nice Owen chappie who was so helpful? Not to mention still being kind of upset about Gwen forgetting him and so on?

Our wings are not tired.

The sand pouring was the last scene. I didn't watch the BBCA version so I don't know what they cut.

Again with the Poor Tosh. I really hope she gets a happy that lasts someday. Likely Rhys is used to odd, and they promised to make her right, so her forgetting she had forgotten him wouldn't be out of line.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Likely Rhys is used to odd, and they promised to make her right, so her forgetting she had forgotten him wouldn't be out of line.

That was my assumption too.

Our wings are not tired.

Rewatching the last 15 minutes of Meat reminded me that Owen was a big damn hero with the sedation, and unusually human with his reactions. It's almost like they want me to like him before they kill him. Love Rhys and Gwen at the end. World of awwww.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, but wasn't the whole existence of the alien based on him existing in people's memories, which he would still, if barely, in Rhys'?

Possible I missed some stuff, because I am sick in bed.

Irritated at the poor Tosh stuff. Sleep with someone who's not an alien, Tosh!

Also, freeing Owen of his cynicism makes his vision bad? Personal hot button, but I hate that glasses are the only signifier of weakness.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Personal hot button, but I hate that glasses are the only signifier of weakness.

Heh. I like the theory (too lazy to page back) that Owen always needs glasses, but he's too concerned with his own self-image the rest of the time to wear them.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I've been thinking about the Jack/Gwen thing alot.

I have always thought that she was special to him from the beginning. In the first episode he told her about the not being able to die thing, of course she saw the result, but that was something that he hadn't revealed to the rest of the team. In fact, he has confided in her more than it seems he has in Ianto.

I was sure it was all on him, but Gwen telling him that she loves him has confused me about the whole thing.
