'Get It Done'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

CFerg, there's a thread for spoilers if people are interested, or you can white font (just put an "s" and space at the beginning of the line). basically our rule is that we can only discuss things that have been aired on broadcast tv.

Just to clarify: The rule is no spoilers in this thread, white-fonted or not!

Glad you could stop by, Mr. Ferg.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I got some news though, I'm gonna be writing few comics for the Eureka comic - actually, maybe I'm flattering myself. Andy (Cosby) and Mark (Waid) will be pulling puppet strings and I will be thinking I am writing. We're thinking of a 4 or 5 parter and it would take place inbetween season one and two. It all went down today so I'm really excited about it.

Oh, that is exciting!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Why am I not at all surprised that Joe M. wants to fix the science?

I'm really liking this season so far, CFerg! With the sad-making exception, of course, but it will make the rest of the season more dramatic, for sure.

And that's cool news about the comic book, too!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Oh, that's right. I meant to say, Congratulations on the comic book writing. I'm imagining it's a blast to work on.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Oh, ghod, more comics to add to pulls. Yay!! Have fun with it CFerg.

And I have to totally agree with WindSparrow, Ed has a very good ear for the dynamics between Stark and Carter. I thought he knocked it out of the ballpark in the last episode.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Well that didn't take long

Sci Fi Channel isn’t about to let down “Stargate” fans.

The network is set to announce the order of a new series from MGM Television, “Stargate: Universe,” that will mark the third entry in Sci Fi’s longest-running original series franchise.

The greenlight comes on the heels of Sci Fi’s confirming Thursday that “Stargate: Atlantis” will not receive a sixth-season order. The “Universe” pickup ensures the continuation of the popular “Stargate” franchise, which has been on the air in various incarnations since 1997.

“Universe” will premiere as a two-hour movie early next year and will assume a regular hourly slot in the summer. Brad Wright and Robert Cooper, co-creators of “Stargate: SG-1” and “Atlantis,” will serve as executive producers and writers on the new series.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Welcome back and congrats, Colin!

I'm liking how there's some focus on Carter's healing friendship with Henry more this season, and the addition of Thorn as a no-nonsense bottom line type with a hidden agenda that may not be entirely villainous. That's somewhat counterbalanced by the over-the-top product placement and the fact that I cross my fingers for PoochieZane to be the science mishap casualty du jour every episode and get disappointed, but I am tuning in each week.

Scifi is marathoning season 3 of Eureka on September 2nd. (You know, in case anyone here has missed any episodes.)

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

They're cancelling SGA? And replacing it with...a new spinoff?

...

...

Normally I am, I think it's fair to say, a reasonably articulate kind of lass, but really, all I can think of to say to this is: What the fucking fuck?

CFerg - how exciting about the comic books! Have you done that kind of thing before? Should be a blast! Oh, and granted I've not seen any of the current season of Eureka (being in Bangkok), so I can't comment on this season - but I definitely agree that Ed's choices in the first two seasons have been spot on. Cranking up the whole mean/combative thing would have been reductive, not to say cheesy. Got to love the depth & humour Ed's brought to the part.

...

...

...and, you know, I'm still boggling over SciFi cancelling SGA. Seriously. WTFF?
