A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
On to the episode, first the product placement is making me crazy. I know it's supposed to be all in-your-face, but it's making me hate the product. The camera focus on it makes me think it's an item of import to the storyline, but it's not, it's an item of import to the pocketbook. About which I do not care.
Second, for serious, about Stark. And starkers Stark. Couldn't the time fairy dust have evaporated his clothes first or something? I mean, really, people.
Third, on camera, all we saw Stark do was plug in a pair of USB cables. If Fargo couldn't have handled that, I dunno that he should be loose in the company at all. Not that I want dead Fargo!
Anyway, I really liked the repetition and thought it did have nuances of meaning each time. I also think it's good that Carter had a chance to work through how he and Ally felt, before the loop closed in.
That said, I am tired of the lack of agency again. This is the second time that Carter has gone through iterations of his relationship and feelings about her...without her. Not on.
Lastly, so does this mean the new lady wasn't up to no good? Confused.

well, he touched a touch screen a lot.

she's very interested in that piece of land. First, she had Henry check the readings, then she had the machinery out there that was examining the spot. I would guess that there was some ultra secret Eureka project there that no one remembers (or everybody died), possibly having something to do with the atom bomb. Henry talked about man made caverns and the diagram was possibly some sort of underground structure.
In terms of Stark vs. Fargo. Note he turned down Carter plugging in the cables too. I think the key here was that the cables had to be plugged in at exactly the right moment - with split second timing based on scientific knowledge and intuition. Carter did not have the science. Fargo did not have the timing or intuitive skill.
(Actually if a standard atomic clock would not do, really it needed humanly impossible timing. I'm going wank it by assuming that Stark had an amazing mathematical intuition beyond conscious knowledge and thus had to ability to make a perfect guess - which there is no way Fargo could have done. Or else he was depending on luck, which again is not something you want to leave to Fargo.)
consider me stompied, Liese. Brain's fried. I honestly don't know when would be appropriate to blackfont, or even whitefont, confirmation or denial of speculation of events of an aired episode.

No problem, Julie, you can check the FAQ here: [link]
Thanks, Vortex. It's been awhile since I read that. Took the ambiguity right out of the matter!
Stark was definitely typing on the touchpad. More than "just" cabling.
I still want to know why Carter was getting so beat up. Was the explosion ripping out of the sky causing physical damage to him that he was accumulating as he got sent back?
I think so. It seemed like some kind of shockwave or something. And was anyone reminded of Nightmare on Elm Street when Carter brought the remote back from the previous day.

From what the time guy said, as long as you were totally in the ultraindigo field when he sent the photon back, you were golden. Carter only got partial exposure when he opened the door the first day. So time was pulling different parts of his body in different directions every time the day looped. That could definitely tear skin and break bones.
