Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

How do you gain advertising mindshare if you're sponsoring a company that is classified? In its fictional context there is no upside there for Degree.

Companies often sponsor gov't agencies/events in order to gain an in with the government. Could be Degree has some patents out there that need pushing through or they are having EPA problems that need to go away or they want the geniuses at GD to develop a new product for them.

Sponsorships aren't always about wide market mindshare. In fact, most of them (percentage-wise, not money-wise) aren't. They're usually targeted to very niche audiences.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I definitely like Martha better than I like Poochie the Corporate Axewoman. I hope there is more cute dry cleaner (or substitute) action than Allyson pining.

Poochie the Corporate Axewoman

Poochie isn't the Corporate Axewoman, he's the asshat that Jo is dating.

eta, he was nowhere near as much an asshat in this episode, so I'm willing to give the writers a chance to make the character work. However, all the interactions with Jo were background detail, so I'm really still judging based on last season.

And I still want some followup to Jo's dream about Fargo. And I hope that Matt Frewer will be back, stupid accent and all.

And a penguin.

In my view, there are two Poochies. Hence the need for specifying which I meant.

So I'm guessing you're not overly fond of S.A.R.A.H. either?

Not particularly. Though if it went on another killing spree and distintegrated Zane, there might be room for affection.

Frances Fisher is so NOT a Poochie, whether her character turns out to be interesting or not.

If she's anything, she's the equivalent of all those recurring antagonists that made House such a drag to watch at times (David Morse, Chi McBride, etc.), but not a Poochie.

It would explain the mysterious liquid.

I see what you mean. She's still eye-rolly. How is Mme. Eye-roll Hatchetwoman for a designation, then? Frankly I think there are enough stories in Eureka, even if they do end up as monster-of-the-week, without needing to have a Big Bad into the bargain.

Also, have I mentioned how glad I was to see the show again, after the months of anticipation? Henry... I hope for the mercy of the court.

Yes - want Henry back in a big way. I also hope he finds a way to be happy again. Maybe he and Jo can hook up after Zane suffers a gratuitously painful death.
