question for you old school Whovians. did the Time War happen before we saw any incarnations of the Doctor? or did it happen during someone's run, but was only alluded to?
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Now, RTD's been on the record somewhere or other saying she wouldn't be back, but now that he's out of the picture, they could do so with a minimum of fuss.
Is he out of the picture totally, or did he just step back?

The Time War is new -- it happened sometime between the last time we saw the Eighth Doctor, and the first time we saw The Ninth.
The Time War was never shown. It was made up by RTD, and presumably happened just before the 2005 series.
You can see it as a logical continuation of the events in Genesis of the Daleks in 1975, through to Remembrance of the Daleks in 1988.
aha! interesting. i always assumed it was a long-standing thing.
Help! Victor is having a Time War with the board!
