Huh--the Professor in "Midnight" was played by David Troughton, the son of Patrick Troughton, Doctor #2. Much taller than his dad, and IIRC, a big director of episodic Brit TV.
'Shindig'
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
In general the Doctor does not seem to handle possession well. One of variety of monster where "I'm the thing the monsters are afraid of" does not seem to apply.
- Loved* this episode of Dr. Who--the weeping Doctor and the shaken Doctor at the end when Donna repeats molto benne (sp?) back to him? Yikes.
SGA: So who was that guy who helped them escape the Hive ship? And I suppose it was all meaningful and shit that Teyla's "I knew you would come for me" words were the same IRL as in John's hallucination. I just don't buy most of her lines, so it left me pretty cold.
Much taller than his dad, and IIRC, a big director of episodic Brit TV.
Taller than his dad, yes, but not a director. I don't know who you're thinking of, Kathy. One of the directors of the current series of Who is Alice Troughton, but AFAIK she's not related.
OTOH Sam Troughton, who plays Much in the current series of "Robin Hood", is David's son and Patrick's grandson.
Edit: funnily enough, it was Alice Troughton who directed "Midnight"....
It occurred to me that Nine would have handled this scenario a lot better.
Except, of course, Nine never would have gone off on this sight-seeing tour in the first place, I suppose.
SGA: You know, McKay really could have said "I'm a physicist, not a doctor!" in all seriousness.
So who was that guy who helped them escape the Hive ship?
I've blanked on his name, but that's the father of Teyla's baby. She had some scenes with him at the end of last season, trying to appeal to his remaining... Athosian-manity and get him to help her.
Did he get fried along with the rest of the ship's crew? I thought that considering most of the crew were presumably Athosians under some kind of hypnotic sway that was a pretty harsh way to go....
In my ongoing game of coming-late-to-the-party, I've just finished watching Season 3 of Supernatural and Season 3 of Bones.
Oh, Winchesters - you really have no luck, eh?
Now I need to catch up with last season of SGA. (I take it that Teyla's baby wasn't fathered by Michael? I always had a sort of soft spot for those two crazy kids...)
Fay, come to the SPN thread! We would love to hear if you have any thoughts!!
