And what's the fun in becoming an immortal demon if you're not regular, am I right?

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

DW 4.13

Trudy, this is what I'm thinking "because he'd be building it from scratch to be flown by two? (awwwwww)" is reasonable. Or maybe because he's the Doctor he might build it to be piloted by three or four, so it is still craxy-flyin' but more manageable for his reduced capacity. And also, to make it generally more intuitive for a human user, if not a human/Timelord hybrid.

I just wonder whether he'd make it look like a 1950s police box. You know, for sentimental reasons.

Didn't somebody in episode 4.13 say something about the chameleon circuit, or am I imagining that? Oh well, another reason to rewatch... .

Yes. Donna did. She started saying something about the binary whatever (talking about the chameleon arch) and that's when she started spazzing.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

DW 4x13

Maybe when he originally builds it the chamelion circuit works, but then it breaks and gets stuck as a police box.

When Doctor Who first aired were police boxes still in use or were they already antiquated?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

If I recall correctly, he originally landed in a junkyard.

No, they were still in use. I remember seeing them around in the '70s, and there was one on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh which was there for ages and might even still be. Of course, they had Doctor Who overtones already, even then.

Hah! The one in Edinburgh is still there!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

If I recall correctly, he originally landed in a junkyard.

Yep! Which is what got Susan's teachers interested to check it out, because why would a police box be inside a junkyard? That's how they became his first human companions.

I always loved the Sylvester McCoy Dalek ep (Resurrection of the Daleks? Was that the title?), because it was a complete callout to the first episode, taking place a matter of weeks after it did and having all sorts of wonderfully traditional Who moments in it.

Resurrection of the Daleks?

Remembrance.
