If I recall correctly, he originally landed in a junkyard.

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
When Doctor Who first aired were police boxes still in use or were they already antiquated?
No, they were still in use. I remember seeing them around in the '70s, and there was one on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh which was there for ages and might even still be. Of course, they had Doctor Who overtones already, even then.
Hah! The one in Edinburgh is still there!
If I recall correctly, he originally landed in a junkyard.
Yep! Which is what got Susan's teachers interested to check it out, because why would a police box be inside a junkyard? That's how they became his first human companions.
I always loved the Sylvester McCoy Dalek ep (Resurrection of the Daleks? Was that the title?), because it was a complete callout to the first episode, taking place a matter of weeks after it did and having all sorts of wonderfully traditional Who moments in it.
Resurrection of the Daleks?
Remembrance.
The Futon Critic's first look at Virtuality - this is somehow much more different and better than I thought it was.

DW 4x13
Just how long has Donna been gone? How much time has passed on earth that she's going to think her friends are making things up about?
Well, Trudy, she'll have forgotten everything back to her wedding, which was Christmas before last, so a year and a half or so.
Actually, I'm wrong she'll just have forgotten the wedding itself, maybe. Although, given that she seemed to be actively looking for the Doctor when we meet her again, it's likely that she'd forget much of that year.

I have NO WORDS. NONE. For how fantastic that is.
OH COLIN.
Made of Awesome. SO looking forward to start of the season.
eta: I just finished DW 2x10 Love and Monsters which was pretty darn good also. Ursula was Shirley Henderson from Hamish Macbeth. Squee! That episode managed to be happy, sad, sweet, and squicky all within 45 minutes. Good show.
