Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Not javachik

This show wants me to watch more carefully than I usually watch tv.

Me, too, though I'm sure part of it is because I don't know who the guys are and have a hard time telling them apart. After IMDBing BAG and Lucky Spencer, I still couldn't tell them apart in a line up. The showrunners need to, I don't know, one have with a yellow collar and the other a red carnation, just until I know their faces after more exposure.

She probably kept the chip for the same reason that she kept the metal,

She kept metal? I've seen them all; what am I forgetting now?

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

In the trailer for next week's SCC, there was an older guy talking to FBI guy who looked REALLY familiar? Did anyone else see him who can ID?

That was Bruce Davison (IMDb profile) who's been in ungodly number of things both on TV and in movies. He was Senator Kelly from the first X-Men movie whom Mystique killed and impersonated.

She kept metal? I've seen them all; what am I forgetting now?

She kept a piece of coltan after they busted the truck out of the nuclear bunker. I am mad curious to find out why Cameron is defying Sarah's order. Some other counterprogramming (future!John's, perhaps)? Her original programming reasserting itself? Or is it a step toward consciousness and independent motivation, a dangerous curiosity toward the nature of her kind? Interesting stuff.

Re. the basement. We've been speculating elsewhere that the soldiers might have been "reprogrammed" (or brainwashed, I guess you can call it), in parallel to the terminators being reprogrammed at the resistance headquarters.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

tommyrot, do you have the Starburst edition of Farscape? Because if you do, Ben Browder and Claudia Black do a really good commentary for "The Way We Weren't."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh right right right! I was excited about that.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

there was an older guy talking to FBI guy who looked REALLY familiar? Did anyone else see him who can ID?

Was he also Knight Rider's creator? I'm too lazy to look it up--just that he was another white haired guy that gets around the officious genre roles.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Was he also Knight Rider's creator?

Yes.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Bruce Davison was also the original Willard.

Question - does anyone know how SCC has been doing ratings-wise?

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

It's lost 10 million viewers since it premiered. It's down to 8 million now, although the drop off has slowed week to week muchly. Although it's still falling.

It's not a TV hit. And it's about to end as they didn't produce many episodes pre-strike. But I'd imagine it will return in the fall, or January.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Ooooh... good theory!

Thanks for the Bruce Davison ID.
