You know me! I'm like, "Go school! It's your birthday!" Or something to that effect.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

That's what I suspected, but I couldn't remember if Davros stated that explicitly and I just missed it.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Yeah, Sail, I'm pretty sure it wasn't stated outright, so that really is just speculation - still it seems pretty ominous that they are rounding people up rather than just killing them, particularly as they have not lost the "Exterminate" battle cry. So I don't think the leap is huge.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

You folk make it awful difficult to wait, and I haven't even read any of the whitefont. I just see all the excitement in the empty spaces.

Tamara, you see right.

OK, now that I've finally watched the whole thing, I can quote Ianto properly: "Slight loss of dignity. No change there, then". And I've decided to make that my new tagline (in two weeks, when it's blackfontable). LOVE him.

And I totally agree with Anne, the reactions of all the companions to the Daleks was pitch perfect, especially Sarah Jane to Davros.

I also loved the way they did the past-and-present-companion interactions. Donna and Rose obviously don't see each other as a threat, and I loved the way Donna was so happy for the Doctor when Rose showed up, but Rose was definitely pretty jealous of Martha there.

I am totally on the fence about whether or not David Tennant is off. I can see RTD & Co. doing both: wibbly-wobbly timey-wimeying so that he continues Doctoring or pulling the rug out from under everybody's feet that he's leaving now. Whatever they do, I'm looking forward to seeing it play out. BE NEXT WEEK PLEASE .

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

On a related note, "Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane" has totally cemented my SJA love (though it wasn't a terribly difficult deal to seal). I love how they've brought Maria's dad into the fold (very Joyce Summers, with big chunks of Hal from Malcolm in the Middle - I mean, seriously, the skateboarding? Hilarious and utilitarian).

Now to go watch the two eps that end the season. Hope this gets another run, cause I'm loving their version of the Scooby Gang.

Which channels are running SJA, Frank? Is Sciffy one, at all?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Can I brag for a moment? (Who 12) I totally immediately recognized Harriet Jones' voice. And I called the bees. I'm feeling very good about myself right now. I think partly because I'm living in the land where no way can Sarah Jane be dead for reals and always (and Gwen and Ianto), so they'll have to undo it (for whatever value of "it"), and, this show being this show, that'll mean that Rose has to go back. I have no idea what's up with Donna.

Unexplained bits, then: the whatsits key Martha's got (like that's not going to be used); Why/how Donna is so special; the 1 second out of sync; what the Daleks are doing with the humans (officially).

Him staying regenerated doesn't make sense, to me, with River. I can't imagine if she never knew him with that face it not being an immediate, "Oh, shit."

They like to pull back in plot elements from earlier in the season. We've gotten the verbal call-backs (similar to Saxon and Bad Wolf), but I don't think there were any plot device recalls. I really think something from the library eps will come back, but I can't figure what or how.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

See, Deb, I took River's lack of "oh shit" to be her knowing that when she met him, he could have been an earlier or later regeneration of the regeneration that she personally knew. But, then again, I dunno.

It WAS airing before Doctor Who on Sci-Fi during the season for a number of weeks, but I've had the eps DVRd for ages, so I'm afraid it's ahemming or DVD for catching them at this point.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

DW4.12: Hub sez, so they're gonna DDOS the Daleks?
