Did anyone else notice that SciFi is now burning off Charlie Jade at 3 am on Monday mornings?
I watched the first two episodes and was going to hang around to see if the show gets better. Does it?
'Out Of Gas'
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I had heard that after episode 8, when the show changed showrunners or somesuch, that if got better. I don't know if I can take the slow agony that was the first two eps for another six.
I thought it was also airing Friday nights at 8pm, did they move it?
Charlie Jade is a very smart show with a lot of plot and fabulous production design and some dodgy gender dynamics and not much in the acting department.
The lead, in particular, is nowhere near strong enough to carry what they've given him.
Still, it's gorgeously shot, and it's complicated and twisty and intelligent.
Consuela, did you forget to mention that it is also slooooow, or does it pick up even a fraction of momentum (soonish)?

Aww, crap!
Actually, I think that's Tuesday mornings at 3 AM. But the Sci-Fi channel's website is confusing because it lists Tuesday morning programming as Monday night.
No, I think you're right, Juliebird, it is kind of slow. I mean, individual episodes may be more or less suspenseful, but the overall plot does seem to move fairly slowly. It's not narratively compelling: I generally had to watch several episodes at a time, and then I would sometimes wait weeks to watch more. It just didn't hook me.
Well, I'll keep recording it and maybe watch several eps at a time. It's not like I really care when it airs since I timeshift everything anyway.
I'm with you on the slow, Tzegha, but it still intrigues me with the three parallel universes. It is just so very like hard sci-fi novels and so different from sci-fi TV. That made sense in my vodka addled brain.

Yes, I agree.
I think my main problem with this week's Fear Itself was the pacing. Admittedly I less intently when Colin wasn't on screen, but I think opportunities were wasted to kick back and let the menace make itself felt. The slow creepy feeling wasn't there--just a recitation of admittedly horrific facts.
