'Objects In Space'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Yeah, but now WE know where to find it.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Well, if it were me, I'd hide it in a box of tampons or something ... I've read that most men are very nervous about even touching the box.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Sleepy Hollow, did NOT just do that!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've heard that that's a good way to smuggle drugs into Saudi Arabia.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Woah, The 100 is getting sooper creepy.

I LOVED that Clarke showed up just at the end. But omg what a nightmare that episode was. So many things going very very badly.

I still think Octavia's going to kill Pike, though he may well manage to get on Ontari's good side.

Wonder how the AI storyline is going to intercept with the Grounder issues. This is fascinating.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Steph, stay off the entire Internet if you don't want to be spoiled. I don't even watch the damn show and I know what happened. (But I'm on Twitter.)

I'm taking a laissez-faire approach to spoilage: if it happens, it happens, but I'm not seeking it out, either.

(Though I am glad I wasn't spoiled for Laurel getting killed on Arrow.)

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Sleepy Hollow:

I haven't even watched the previous 3-4 episodes because I was nervous about the direction of the show and was waiting for finale spoilers. Once I heard about Abbie's death I canceled my DVR season pass and deleted every single one of those episodes unwatched. I can't remember the last time I was this devastated by a show, and I'm furious at the writers for how they handled her death, not to mention all the Ichabbie ship-baiting from the season that apparently continued right up to the finale. And I'm worried about a friend of mine in the fandom because she's been going through a lot of shit in real life and this was where she went for a little peace and joy, but I don't know her that well and I don't know if there's anything I could do for her, and....just argh.

And I find myself grieving a TV show, and I'm furious about that, because I don't want to give bad writing and terrible storytelling choices that much power in my life. I'm torn between feeling sorry I ever watched this show, much less got involved in fandom and wrote novel-length fanfic about it, and feeling kinda proud that at least I had enough respect for Abbie's character to let her be the heroine in her own story and give her and Crane a relationship and a happy ending that fit the show and characters as originally established. Also, that fanfic got me writing again when I'd stopped altogether, and now I'm dipping my toes back into writing original fiction, so there's that...but, dammit. I didn't want it to end like this. I wish it'd been canceled after last season, since at least last year's finale went out on a high note. And I hope it's canceled now, because Sleepy Hollow without Abbie would be a travesty.

Susan, you don't have to whitefont, though it's nice that you did. We know it's a blackfont thread, even for big stuff.

That said, I saw something on Tumblr that made me guess what happened, and now I just want to know WTF????? We're several episodes behind -- I think the last one we saw was the one where, at the very end, Abbie went in the shed and knelt on the ground before the big symbol on the wall.

I kind of want to watch all the episodes we're behind to see how everything led up to yesterday's episode, and kind of don't want to watch. Because seriously, WHAT THE HELL.
