Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I know I said I was over LoT, but I was bored and migrainey tonight, so I put it on. And -- was the entire purpose of the episode to get Stein in a beret? (I don't object to that, for the record.)

I pretty much only like Ray and Stein, and LOVE Captain Cold SO HARD. I have no use for Rip Hunter or Hawkgirl.

But really, Rip Hunter was charming on Doctor Who? Because he is totally unlikable in LoT.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

This was my question. I know the writing's crap, but the actor has proven he possesses charm before. What happened to it?

Clearly Wentworth Miller and Victor Garber are good enough to at least make their characters enjoyable even if they can't elevate anyone else's performance.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Oh, man, Rory was so amazing. (On Doctor Who. The guy who's not Captain Cold is named Rory too, isn't he? That's confusing.)

Also, this probably will not help convince anyone who hasn't seen Doctor Who, but this is my favorite Rory vid: [link]

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I thought it was the best episode they've done so far (not saying much, of course, but still). Lot's of call outs to Star Wars and Trek (even a Kobayashi Maru type scenario). Didn't hate Rip this time around, and actively liked his venting of the pirates. OTOH, Ray/Kendra makes me throw up in my mouth a little. And I don't understand why Stein didn't meld with Jax when they were together. Would've been a neat little surprise for Captain Valor.

So, did Lenny really just kill Mick? And where and when did they leave the corpsicle? (Clearly he'll be back. Future tech an probably thaw him out.)

Because they ripped off Firefly SO HARD.

I was legit rooting for Time Pirate Captain to kill Rip.

And I don't understand why Stein didn't meld with Jax when they were together.

Too much CGI for the budget? (I was wondering the same thing.)

Heh. I almost added "very Firefly-like" to my post.

Too much CGI for the budget?

That was my thought, too, although they did toss in that little line from Mick about fires not being a great idea on a spaceship.

Last night must have been Whedon tribute night on The CW, because The 100 had a very Buffy moment.

I think I even yelled at the screen "OMG! Did you learn nothing from Buffy?!"

Yeah, I was surprised & disappointed. Although not that surprised, because I know the actress got another job, but seriously, show. Bad show.

I did like the backstory we got, though: the ALIE storyline and the Grounder storyline are tying together in very interesting ways. We're going to get ALIE 1.0 and ALIE 2.0 fighting each other in the persons of Skaikru and Trikru.
