Ooh. Interesting choice. While Hannibal got a bit Too Much for me after a while, there is no denying he's a show-runner with unique POV. I'd forgotten that he'd worked on Voyager.
'Objects In Space'
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I just watched last week's Legends of Tomorrow. The Mr. Blake guy really distracted me. I knew I had seen him somewhere before, so I hit up IMDB. Turns out he was on 90210, as Joe Bradley, the virgin quarterback who was Donna's boyfriend. And from that point on I couldn't take him seriously.
I'm still not totally loving this show, though Captain Cold is my jam.
Sara, episode 1: "C'mon boys, I wanna dance!"
Sara, episode 3: "I've never been much of a dancer..."
I'd like to see you try to keep track of every single detail after coming back from the dead...
New Trek series to be run by Bryan Fuller: [link]
“Bryan is not only an extremely gifted writer, but a genuine fan of Star Trek,” Stapf said. “Having someone at the helm with his gravitas who also understands and appreciates the significance of the franchise and the worldwide fan base was essential to us.”
Fucking yes, please, and thank you. Let Abrams go play with Star Wars and stay away from Trek.
Let Abrams go play with Star Wars and stay away from Trek.
The problem is that it's looking as though the series will probably be set in the rebooted universe.
I can deal with the new universe. I'm interested in the stories, and how they handle the characters.
I loved Supergirl ! I thought they did a great job making the story their own, focusing more on what draws Kara back rather than what keeps her in (the Krypton stuff was fairly weak, but I found the rest of it so much more compelling I didn't see it as a design flaw). Melissa Benoist nailed Hank-as-Kara, Chyler Leigh got to give a tearful monologue, they said "family" like forty times, and I loved it.
And regarding The X-Files, yes, they have to find William in the finale or else what is storytelling.
I'd love to see what Fuller could do with Star Trek in the new universe.
Flash
Good job, Barry. Way to not do what you came to Earth-2 to do, screw up your doppelganger's life and get yourself captured all in short order. How hard would it be to tell Iris "Sorry, I've got some work to catch up on, I'll see you at home."?
I did like the shot of Kara during the dimensional rift. Did anyone catch all the names on the Barry-2's phone? I saw Eddie, Diana, and Hal.
ETA: Killer Frost was fun. Same with evil Cisco. Evil Firestorm just came across as slightly more douchey.
