I told Tim that if the show didn't include the ten-dollar founding father without a father, I was out. And then Ichabod found that book/folder/whatever with the picture of Nathan Hale on it, and lo, there was Hamilton.
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Thinking about it, though, Washington would never have clued Hamilton into the occult shit going on, because the man could NOT keep his mouth shut (c.f., the Reynolds Pamphlet).
I like the flashbacks when they have Ben Franklin, but I groan every time Busty Ross shows up. Though at least this time she was somewhat restrained and mission-oriented, rather than "We can totally rescue this guy like, yaknow, pirates! You get the gunpowder barrels and I'll do a striptease to distract the guards! giggle"
I love every opportunity Ichabod has to talk shit about Ben Franklin.
Okay, I am firing Supergirl. I am tired of the whining. I basically only like James Olsen and Jon J'onzz. And not just because they're black. But sometimes, they whine, too.
That X-Files was creepy, gross, and... touching. If we don't see William by the end of this, that means they have to come back for another mini-series or movie, right?
Now I need to call my mom.
Supergirl:
I felt Alex's pleas were over-wrought, but Kara saying goodbye to Krypton was heart-breaking.
Overall I was disappointed in the episode. If you're going to copy one of the all-time great Superman stories, you've got a hell of an uphilll climb and I don't think the writers were up to it.
It didn't help that the stuff that wasn't copying For the Man Who Has Everything wasn't very compelling. J'onn as Kara wasn't nearly as fun as J'onn as Lord (though I do think Melissa Benoist did a great job with what she was given. She nailed Hank's delivery.)
The little scene in Kara's apartment at the end was nice, though.

Ooh. Interesting choice. While Hannibal got a bit Too Much for me after a while, there is no denying he's a show-runner with unique POV. I'd forgotten that he'd worked on Voyager.
I just watched last week's Legends of Tomorrow. The Mr. Blake guy really distracted me. I knew I had seen him somewhere before, so I hit up IMDB. Turns out he was on 90210, as Joe Bradley, the virgin quarterback who was Donna's boyfriend. And from that point on I couldn't take him seriously.
I'm still not totally loving this show, though Captain Cold is my jam.
