It wasn't a *bad* episode, but it just felt like they were treading water, waiting to kick off Legends of Tomorrow.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
It almost looked like it hurt him (not much, but a little).
It did. He briefly got bloody-eyed and veiny.
I really didn't like the handheld shots for some of the fight scenes. It gave it a very documentary feel that is at odds with the tone of the show. It also made it very obvious the characters weren't actually hitting their opponents at points.
Oh, my God, Neal McDonough. At the end, when Oliver is giving his speech, there is no reaction from Damien, except for a tiny little nostril flair. So awesome.
The ep was directed by the stunt coordinator. His first time directing. I too thought the handheld camera work in the fight between the rail cars was odd. I almost never notice stunt doubles unless I look for them. Things moving fast I just don't notice it.
Oh, my God, Neal McDonough.
He is just killing it as Damien Darhk. I don't think even Malcolm Merlyn is as gleefully evil as Darhk is.
Evil wizards have been an archetype for centuries for good reason.
So, Sleepy Hollow just went full-on Gift.
That episode actually combined several Buffy episodes (or, you know, leaned heavily in their direction): Anubis reminded me of nothing so much as the Judge; despite that, I got an early Drusilla/Spike vibe from Pandora and Anubis (though Pandora is FAR less crazy than Drusilla); and, yeah, totally The Gift at the end.
I hope Abbie doesn't come back wrong.
omg, I've been tracking this thread watching Arrow from Season One (and also the Flash once it went on Netflix) reading a little at a time, with every episode and NOW I'M TOTALLY CAUGHT UP!
Oh, thanks for making me sound smarter than I am by using your theories to impress Tom.
Three things: 1) My God, I still hate Laurel. 2) OMG Harrison Wells is awesome in every universe and 3) Cisco is my heart and ALL MY LOVE.
OMG Harrison Wells is awesome in every universe
TRUTH.
Cisco is my heart and ALL MY LOVE.
He annoyed me at first, and now I have nothing but heart-eyes for him.
