Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I thought the hockey stick was a great idea for a staff. I still imagine Harry with it when I read the books.

Same here.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

The...what now? Clearly I didn't even get that far. That's really a sad substitution.

The reason given was they were "less conspicuous." Because Harry is all about the subtlety, you know. /sarcasm. (Plus, maybe random guys walking down the street with hockey sticks but no other gear in Canada, where they shot the show, is unremarkable, but it's still out of place in Chicago.)

I haven't read it yet, but Jim just released the first book in his new Steampunk series. The next DF book is currently being written.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Oh, COME ON. John Constantine just happened to be on Lian Yu?

To be fair, John is pretty high on the list of DC characters likely to show up out of nowhere for some inexplicable reason. (Really, the Phantom Stranger is about the only one who's got him beat.) It's not like Olly stumbling across Barry Allen or Jim Gordon chilling on Assassin Island.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

To be fair, John is pretty high on the list of DC characters likely to show up out of nowhere for some inexplicable reason.

That's really kind-of what John does, when he's in someone else's story. He appears, does something magical and possibly ruinous, and then leaves, often dramatically in the pale blue smoke of the mess he's left you with. But he did solve your initial problem. IOW, never wish for John Constantine.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Skipping madly to say: I love Ichabod drinking things with tiny umbrellas. On the one hand, incongruously froufrou; on the other, I'm sure anything with a lot of rum is reassuringly familiar to him, whatever it is called and however it is presented.

And not having seen the full discussion yet (see above re: skipping madly) I will nonetheless interject that upon watching this week's Arrow I reflected that I might like Constantine best as a guest in others' stories, much as I do enjoy his own.

We just watched this week's episode tonight, and I said the SAME thing!

Right there with you.

I really hope that "thanks for cleaning up after me" business from Pandora pays off because that is some ominous shit.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Best episode of Sleepy Hollow this season by far IMHO, even if it wasn't at all geared to my Ichabbie-shipping heart.
