I wonder what the characters in the tattoo mean. I saw something a while ago written by someone who (supposedly) knew how to read the Chinese characters, and she said that the first two were animals, corresponding to the first two years that Oliver was on the island, and the second two weren't quite anything, but she could sort of come up with a way to make them mean Shado and Yao Fei.
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Is there a picture online of the tattoo? I could ask Biyi.
This is the clearest image I found from a quick Google, but it's still kind of fuzzy. [link]
Oh, COME ON. John Constantine just happened to be on Lian Yu?
It's a magical place.
I asked Biyi. That picture has been reversed, so the characters are all mirror images. They're traditional characters rather than simplified. (I think that may make a difference only in the last character.) She believes they are:
鼠 姜 姚 猪
In pinyin: shŭ jiāng yáo zhū, which means "Rat Ginger Elegant Pig". The third character, though, is more commonly encountered as a surname.
"Rat Ginger Elegant Pig"
Man, this is awesome.
So the first two characters refer to Oliver's hair during his first two years on the island?
The third character, though, is more commonly encountered as a surname.
Well, Yao Fei was on the island, so that makes some sense. And Oliver's first two years on the island were 2007 and 2008, which were the years of the pig and the rat. So that part makes sense with the thing I remember reading, though in a different order. I think the person who wrote it got the "ginger" one to sort of mean "Shado" because "shado" is also the word for a type of flower, which has some kind of vague connection to the ginger plant.
Just watched Flash last night. My fave line was "The other Doctor Wells was evil but you're just a dick," especially the great line reading. We had to rewind just to hear it again. Lots of fun chemistry between Barry and Patty, I thought. My DH keeps saying that she's so much more attractive than Iris. I said, you think she's prettier? "No, more attractive-you just can't help but like watching her onscreen."

Seriously, AWESOME.

I am totally on board that ship.
