That's my girl, large and in-charge. Okay, teensy-weensy and in charge.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I try to keep myself from noticing the women's clothing in the flashbacks, but WTF was Betsy Ross wearing in that pitiful sword-training scene?

Thrive to spite them

Is anyone watching Z Nation.. is there a discussion anywhere I'm not aware of?

Oddly I couldn't get into The Walking Dead but I'm really enjoying Z Nation.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Time travel happened in late Season 2, didn't it? Could it be possible that Busty Ross is actually a time traveler from the modern era? It would explain so much.

All is well that ends in pizza.

For those who might not be on Facebook or Tumblr with me.

It totally would! I was grumbling last night that she acts more 21st century than the actual normal 21st century characters on the show like Abbie and Jenny, and, indeed, more so than me or most of the actual normal 21st century Americans I encounter in day-to-day life.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Buffistas are rocking the word play even more than usual when discussing Sleepy Hollow. "Busty Ross" "Twistory".

Also has anyone noticed how show's Twistory reverses a certain right wing trope about the USA being founded upon Christianity? In this AU the USA was founded on witchcraft. Most of the big name founding fathers and mothers are revealed to be practitioners of magic in alliance with witches. It was even strongly hinted in the first season that the Religious Freedom clause was put in place specifically as a way to keep a promise that America would be a safe haven for witches.

And yeah, I have to me 3 the idea of Busty Ross as time traveler. Her use of late 20th/early 21st century hints time traveling origin. "Let you in" "Go for it" "Overthink" . She's from the 1995.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure that even in the real world, the Salem Witch trials were among the many cases in the back of founders minds when that provision was included in the Bill of Rights.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh god, you're probably right. Which means she's going to turn up in the 21st century and we'll have to put up with even more of her?

That is my fear regardless of her century of origin. It's like, "Show, did you learning NOTHING from the debacle that was Katrina in S2?"
