It's my estimation that... every man ever got a statue made of him, was one kind of sumbitch or another.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Sleepy Hollow: so, Betsy Ross is awful, right? Or the actress, I mean. She's so jarringly bad and all of her line readings are wooden. Ugh.

Yeah, I like the idea of her character, but the actress' voice and Tom Mison's voice do not mesh well in conversation.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I like the idea of her character,

I do, too, except -- at this point in his flashbacks, is Ichabod cheating on Katrina? Or is this pre-Katrina? It's a little confusing.

I think, from the perspective of the showrunners, we're supposed to forget Katrina ever happened.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Who played the killer on iZombie? He looked really familiar.

I don't actually have a problem with that.

Adam Rose, aka Max the creepy roommate in Veronica Mars S3.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am only partway through Sleepy Hollow, but I am disappointed in Mills and Crane for not figuring that a good way to protect woman-sth-a-secret from the Secret Eating Monster is to freakin' take her official statement and get it out to as many people as possible so it isn't a goddamn secret anymore.

Also, I do enjoy Happy Homemaker Ichabod.

I don't think I like Betsy Ross even in the abstract. I don't necessarily dislike the idea of her per se, but the character seems superfluous to the story I'm interested in. And the actress' delivery of practically every line is distractingly off-putting.

Pandora, I like.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Sleepy Hollow: so, Betsy Ross is awful, right? Or the actress, I mean. She's so jarringly bad and all of her line readings are wooden. Ugh.

Yep, she's awful. I've tried to be open to the idea of her character, at least as long as she stays in the past where she belongs, and I think she COULD'VE worked if better-executed, but no.

I think most of my gripe is that for all that the twistory makes the 18th-century flashbacks purely insane, Tom Mison grounds them by having the same bearing and and mannerisms he'd use if he were in a serious drama set in the era. He makes it possible for me to suspend disbelief just enough to enjoy the ride, but everything about Betsy's voice and body language just screams 21st century. Which I guess is their idea of making her a sexy, sassy badass...but nah. Not working for me at all.

That said, I did enjoy the episode, though I figure all I'll rewatch of it is the opening with the housework through the Daniel vs. Crane dick-measuring contest (there's some hilarious commentary and fanart on that on Tumblr), and then the very end where Crane and Abbie are talking on the porch.
