A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Also, did not one producer question the optics of killing off in one fell swoop the show’s minority family in the same episode you bring on two black actors as ruthless, purple-skinned villains?
I totally get this, but that family was pretty boring and the new aliens are kinda awesome. I'm not entirely sure they are villains, but that is probably wishful thinking.
I liked the father, the kids nsm. As far as the new alien race is concerned they played enough into a violent stereotype that I was uncomfortable with the choice of black actors, but I'm hoping they'll develop more dimensions as we go along.
I'm watching Dark Matter it feels like a cheap Firefly ripoff with amnesia.
I think this is part of why I enjoyed it - feels vaguely familiar. Plus, the colorless Dr that you (I) don't really believe Bo's in love with on Lost Girl is on it playing an android, which seems right in her wheelhouse.
The father was interesting right up to the end, that's true. That one little exchange with Datak about how they would seek revenge together, I wanted to see where that would lead. Oh well. I'm also super tired of the Tarrs, but we're probably stuck with them.
it's always disappointing when the only black actors onscreen are playing aliens. Too bad they killed off the new
sheriff
law keeper last season, he had a solid character arc, I thought.
Datak should have died ages ago. I can't stand him. He isn't even a fun villain.
Yes, Lauren from Lost Girl is so wooden that she is perfect as an android.
I'm liking Killjoys so far, but it's only ten minutes in. It still has ample time to disappoint me. I'm recording it because I can't watch now. Also Dark Matter, because of the resemblance to Firefly, but it seems I've already missed the first one.
The first Dark Matter was last Friday, but I'd bet it's available On Demand by now.

It was created by Mallozzi and Mullie from SGA, and my impression is it lacks the kind of casting luck they had with that show.
Who is this baby-faced guy on Killjoys that I recognize but can't place and also am too lazy to IMDB?
Aaron Ashmore. His identical twin was Iceman in the X-Men movies.
