Oh, flying. Got it. Definitely hoping for Wells. Brave Eddie will get wormhole revived. Did we see Barry signalling to Barry not to interfere? That confused me.
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Did we see Barry signalling to Barry not to interfere?
Yes. Of all the people who gave him advice, at least he took his own.
I think I cried at least 3 times in this episode, which was a record set back in the day by "The Prom." (Barry calling Joe "Dad," Barry with his mom, and GOD DAMN IT EDDIE).
I hope they don't just easily bring Eddie back next season. That would be cheap imo.
I wonder if future Flash being more familiar with Thawne knew something of what he was up to or what would happen if Barry saved his mother and that is why he told him not to interfere.
The Flash and Arrow are both doing a nice job of playing with their introductory voiceovers.
I’m not sure I understand Barry’s trip to the past, but it hit me in the feels. And Eddie, dude, that’s some serious hero shit right there.
Also, holy crap what a cliffhanger!
iZombie also pretty big with the feels. Major is reminding me of Captain Awesome (and kind of Tom Haverford) in that I like him so much more than I would have guessed when we first met him. A character that can look at his experience and say "well, that's gotta be a delusion, better go get some treatment" rather than doing the standard I-know-what-I-saw-it-was-so-real dance gets a lot of points with me. Sebastian would have been the first person Liv killed, except how he's not exactly all the way dead, but I guess he is the first zombie she's, um, made? Don't know verb to use. I hope Zombie Rat yields up some powerful information or is otherwise important.

Oh!! Because he ate her blood. Now I get it.
I didn't expect the Max Rager plot to come back! Things are getting more complicated. I kind of miss the lightness of the first half of the season, but it's doing well like this too.
I am miffed that twice now they've teased a potential recurring Indian woman and then only brought her back to be dead.
OTOH, it would be a good cameo for Supergirl to show up and help with the black hole...
I think Barry fully intended to go save his mom until his future self told him not to. I can't see him bothering to go through all that just for some minor closure in telling her he turned out okay.
I'm still weirded out by the fact we keep being told that future Barry is the one who took young Barry out of the house, but we keep seeing a yellow blur actually do it.
Barry has a red costume and a yellow blur, while Thawne has a yellow costume and a red blur.
Barry has a red blur with yellow lightning arcs while Thawne has the opposite, I thought.
I teared up at Barry's moment with his mom, which is extremely rare for me with regard to television. Though perhaps I was emotional due to the aneurysm caused by the show treating Mach 2 as some mythical velocity that could break the space-time continuum. If that were all it would take, they could have rigged up a light-gas gun to fire a bullet at supersonic speeds down the accelerator.
Other Crimes Against Physics: any black hole that could be created by the energies involved in a particle accelerator would be so tiny it would explode almost instantaneously in Hawking radiation rather than sticking around long enough to eat objects and grow. One large enough to do so would also immediately fall through the ground toward earth's center of gravity rather than hovering in the sky to suck up random cars and debris.
