A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
That was like an acid flashback to S1 Veronica Mars, what with Dick Casablancas and mentions of GHB.
Plus some
Party Down
with Willy the Wino's catchphrase of "Are we having fun yet?"
the Captain being a zombie was a shock.
Yes!! I love how they've coded hot sauce to zombieism. Hee.
And am worried about Major (who for some reason reminds me of Capt. Awesome).
Same on both counts. I was afraid the new body for Liv was his.
I think I hate Iris West more than I hate Laurel. I'm just fast-forwarding through her scenes now.
I like the actress, but the "hero's love interest makes really bad decisions because everyone is keeping them in the dark" was horrible enough on Arrow. I have no idea why they felt the need to repeat it on The Flash.
Her as secret love interest is so cheesy and clichéd to begin with. Maybe it's from the comics, I don't know. But they've gone nowhere good with it, and borderline creepy at times.
Barry and Iris were a couple in the comics, though the next-door neighbor/adopted siblings thing is new for the show (and poorly conceived, IMO). At least, that's how it used to be. I can't speak for the current New 52 universe. (Which is where The Reverse Flash killed Barry's mother story came from. Originally Barry just decided to fight crime because he had super powers and it was the right thing to do.)
That's one of the reasons I loved it when Byrne had both Martha and Jonathan Kent alive in the present day. Look, no tragic backstory needed to motivate someone to be a hero!
I am very tired of tragic backstories.
The Flash:
Cisco having memories of the altered timeline was not something I was expecting, and I started immediately worrying that he really wouldn’t make it to the end of the season because the timeline wants to correct itself. I didn’t think he was going to recover from that bee sting.
I still find Ray Palmer to be super creepy. Buying out the entire restaurant?
I kinda expected Lowell to be a zombie given his sudden interest in Liv, but the Captain being a zombie was a shock.

You guys already said the things I was going to say, so I'll just point upward and say, "cosigned."
From Once Upon A Time - it occurred to me - why does everyone's happily ever after HAVE to include a One True Love? why aren't there any happy endings with people single? or with a partner of (gasp!) the same sex?
