Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Also, no way that Tatsu is dead. My guess is Maseo would help resurrect Oliver / help nurse him back to health, Ra's will find out and kill him in retaliation, then Tatsu would show up swearing vengeance, paving the road to her becoming Katana. That would make a nice change from all the retconned fridged women (seriously, you HAD TO give Ray a dead fiancee? Talk about a failure in imagination.)

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Of the top 10 pairings on AO3, 9 of them are het. And the 10th is Oliver/Felicity/Diggle.

Edit - wait, I'm wrong -- it's Oliver & Felicity & Diggle, which means that they are all in the story, not slash.

Seriously. That reveal didn't have the effect on me that the showrunners probably intended.

Because Oliver&Felicity4EVER!11!!!

I meant to say last week how much I loved their interaction on the Flash in the coffee shop. Maybe their best interactions since the date of doom.

Tonight made my cold heart grow 2 sizes.

It is weird to me to ship them so hard and love all their moments. I don't remember being like this with other shows.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Also, no way that Tatsu is dead.

Normally I would agree with you, but this show doesn't exactly have the best record with keeping kickass female romantic partners alive.

The only reason I think she's still alive is because that scenario gives us more Katana.

And now back to the Flash: I'm not convinced Wells is the Reverse Flash. Even with the last scene. Yes, the weird voice modulation thing is something I can't explain away, but I'm still not convinced. (For one, he obviously doesn't have the quick healing abilities that Barry has.)

Because the Reverse Flash didn't kill/knock out Eddie when he killed/knocked out the rest of the redshirt cops (I couldn't really tell if he killed them or just knocked them out). And it was interesting how obviously Wells used Eddie's last name when they had Reverse Flash trapped. I think there's still the real possibility that Reverse Flash is time-traveling Eddie. (Plus the last 2 episodes have really ramped up Eddie's animosity towards not just the Flash but Barry, which sets up possible motivation for crazy high-speed time-traveling hijinks.)

I got the impression that he doesn't have superspeed like Barry, but he gets his power from his tachyon-imbibed longjohns.

Oh, okay. I was unclear what the tachyon thing was doing. That makes sense. Hmmm. I'm still not totally convinced. And I don't need to be, because I'm enjoying watching it play out.

Evil Eddie will give us more Clueless Iris. Yay?

Man, Iris is so useless. Also, Barry needs to get over the whole pining-for-15-years thing.
