Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Vortex, it opened a chamber with what looked like Reverse Flash's suit, and Wells put some sort of contraption on it, then said "Merry Christmas," in that weird speedster voice.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Well, I always thought that Wells killed Barry's mom. As I recall, tachyon particles are key for time travel, so my money is on Wells being from the future and somehow got trapped in the past. Possibly went back in time to kill Barry as a kid.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Wells put some sort of contraption on it

That would be the stolen tachyon thingy.

That there is a key visual I missed from earlier.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Last night, when Dr. Wells went into his secret room, I noticed that the walls look like Braille (for giants). Am I slow on the uptake, or was this not clear in earlier episodes?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So Wells beat himself up? Why did he need shenanigans to get a tachyon thingy? I mean, he already had it/the potential for it, right?

And we have another speedster, or maybe Barry goes back in time to try and save his mother?

Am I slow on the uptake, or was this not clear in earlier episodes?

Are you thinking it has a narrative rationale, rather than just being a fancy design choice?

So Wells beat himself up?

That's my working theory.

Why did he need shenanigans to get a tachyon thingy?

So that he could have the ability to go back and time and beat himself up.

I mean, he already had it/the potential for it, right?

I'm thinking he lost all his tachyons when he originally went back to kill Barry's Mom, and didn't have the ability to generate new ones until now.

I obviously could be completely wrong about all of this.

But he could have stopped before the beatdown, right? Didn't they already have the thingy?

I missed something obvious here...
