OK, does Abby not know CPR?
'Shindig'
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
And when did Ichabod learn it, because he didn't know what to do when Abbie almost drowned a few episodes back.
Maybe he Internetted.
Andi and I both assumed that Mistress meant she was Romana, whom K-9 called "mistress."
huh.
Seems to me after the scare of Abbie almost drowning, Crane might have been highly motivated to learn all about this newfangled CPR.
When reading this I heard it entirely in Benedict Cumberbacth's Sherlock Holmes voice. I'm not exactly sure why but maybe the bored thing and fetch me the parrot.
Nice. I like it.
Helen Mirren would be amazing as the Doctor but another dream actress for the role - Gina Torres. Sure she's not British (or Scottish) but she can do action, she can do humor and she can do voice of steel scary thing. Just imagine this
I've always winced at that speech. It's the "Basically", weakens it for me. I prefer Nine's climactic speech to the daleks in "Bad Wolf", or Ten's challenge to the Vashta Nerada:
"I'm the Doctor and you're in the biggest Library in the universe. ...Look me up."
Gina Torres could pull off the second one easily. The first, I'm not quite sure how she'd do with "I'm gonna wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky!" (Not that that's a standard I'd hold a Doctor to. I don't think Ten or Eleven could've done it either.)
Ultimately, though, it's the lack of Britishness that would trip her up.
Andi and I both assumed that Mistress meant she was Romana, whom K-9 called "mistress."
That would've been cool. I've also seen theories that she was Susan, embittered from being shoved out at the end of The Dalek Invasion of Earth. (Rightly so, one might posit.)
I loved the polling place part of Sleepy Hollow so much! Voting and Sassy Ichabod are two of my favorite things. "American Idolatry.... I know what it's called!" Hee.
Concur!
Overall, I thought the episode was kind of blah, but the polling place was excellent, and "I need to internet immediately," and then being impatient with dial-up... Mison manages all that stuff so masterfully.
And Abby gave Ichabod the "I Voted!" sticker ... I hope he appreciated it.
Polling place scene = ADORABLE.
Mystical pregnancy bullshit = UGH. Can genre shows quit doing this to their female characters already? It's such a fucking tired cliché.
