'War Stories'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I want to see more of Franklin and Ichabod being pissy at each other. And Abby going "Dude, don't diss the founding father."

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Just one hour.

Thanks. I should probably keep my mouth shut until next week then!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

While I enjoyed Ben-and-Ichabod show, my history brain kicked in again. Washington was appointed general of the continental forces in July 1775. Franklin left for France in December 1776 and stayed there until after the war. Franklin was in Philadelphia; the fighting during those years was in Massachusetts and New York.

Also, Franklin published an account of the key experiment, which may or may not have really happened, in 1752.

The one thing I suspect is accurate is that that Franklin could be insufferable.

That was your first mistake.

I know. I keep telling myself that this is an alternate universe, but it doesn't always work.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

During the last Who, I kept telling myself this was taking place in a universe where people actually think that it's OK for the safest bank in the universe to have air ducts large enough for people all over the place.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The one thing I suspect is accurate is that that Franklin could be insufferable.

Yes, this part was completely believable.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

SH: I didn't recognize Busfield. Good to see him, insufferable though the character may be.

And why make an adult, Oxford don, Franklin's apprentice? oh well ... guess I should stop asking for it to actually, you know, make sense. Although I am glad that they explained tht extremely confusing begnning. Although (again) seeing Ichabod with serious gun power was interesting.

So glad to see that Steph is still focusing on what's important.

Ichabod with a crossbow with a laser sight fills me with delight.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Ichabod with a crossbow with a laser sight

That was hallucination, though, right? (Because that was the part where I turned to Tim and said, "I have NO idea what is going on, but I LOVE THIS SHIT!") And if they don't really use crossbows with a laser sight in non-hallucination land, that makes me sad.
