Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

'Objects In Space'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I just watched The Five Doctors last weekend! Richard Hurndall did very well evoking Hartnell.

I remember hearing back in the day that Carole Ann Ford was really taken aback by just how well Hurndall emulated Hartnell's performance.

In a way I'm glad that Baker's absence prompted them to beef up the First Doctor's role in the story. It was nice to see him take the leadership role in foiling Berusa's plot.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I enjoyed the new Who, but my desire to never see any more of Missy outweighs my desire to see more of the Grumpy!Who and Clara Show. I think I'll continue my tradition of watching Doctor Who sporadically and mostly via Tumblr.

The fact that Capaldi is only four years older than I am gives me cognitive dissonance.

Where do I access Acorn tv? It's not on my Roku.

As far as I know, it's through the AcornOnline.com website.

Thrive to spite them

Acorn was on roku for awhile. That's where I discovered some show I'm blanking on the title. Mystery show set post WW I in Australia.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Mystery show set post WW I in Australia.

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries?

I think I'll pony up the money for Acorn. They give a free month, Hulu does a free week.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm excited about Missy because it's Sue White from Green Wing ! But I agree that the scene left me sort of baffled, confused, and not really wanting to see more. We'll see where she goes.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Hulu does a free week.

Really? I thought they did a free month. Boo. Regardless, we have to pony up for Hulu once fall shows premiere, because we don't have a DVR and we're going to have too many shows, especially on nights when we have standing commitments. It'll end up being cheaper than buying episodes on iTunes. (Our DVD player streams Netflix and YouTube; I wish it streamed Hulu.) (Hey, maybe I should see if there's a software update for the DVD player. Maybe it'll have Hulu.)

the First Doctor, the only other Doctor played by someone over 50

Very late to this but: Pertwee was also over 50.

I rewatched; Capaldi is even better the second time around. In a way I find it a bit of a drag that Doctor always has to be all weird and unpredictable immediately post Regeneration, but I suppose it lets an actor settle in. If the Doctor we saw in the final scene, after he's finished redecorating the Tardis and chosen his outfit; if that's Twelve then that's fine with me.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

So, I was re-watching with my brother (fun conversation: Is there a canonical for "in this fic, one of them is a lizard" answer: Apparently not). My concern with Missy is that she's gonna be one of those "personification of fandom" characters and it's going to be awful and cringe-inducing.
