Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, I know, Strix! Just that I tend not to re-watch tv shows, so if I'm only going to see it once, I want it to be best quality.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I'm a TV slut; I don't care if it's gritty and dirty, as long as I get it when I want it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Did anyone watch The Strain last night? I wasn't able to watch it live, but I was wondering what people thought of it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I recorded it, haven't watched yet. I'm a little afraid.

I'm a little afraid.

Me too.

I'm not really enjoying Defiance as much this season as I did last season. I wish they would just kill Datak already.

Yeah. I like Irisa's storyline well enough, but the rest is leaving me cold.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I watched The Strain. Nice lush cinematography (I would expect no less from del Toro), but the cliches were piled pretty deep and the main character was really unlikeable.

I also had an Indiana Jones style reaction to the transmission vector: “Worms. Why'd it have to be worms?”

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Jessica, I finally got around to watching DVR'd Extant. I don't think I felt as strongly about its badness as you did. More weak and predictable...and I might even be a little interested in what's up with all the visiting dead guys?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I agree with Matt.

I will watch the 2nd episode I think but I did not like "The Strain."

I was pretty skeeved out by the show, and not the good kind of skeeved. I am guessing from the Matt whitefont he may agree, but I finished the ep thinking: "this is super gross. I am grossed out and I am not sure I want to watch this week to week."

If you get my meaning, I kind of felt like I did at that end of that notorious X-Files episode "Home."

I mean damn. I don't know if I want to see this again.
