You two carried me through that war. Now I need you to carry me just a little bit further. If you can.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Jessica, I finally got around to watching DVR'd Extant. I don't think I felt as strongly about its badness as you did. More weak and predictable...and I might even be a little interested in what's up with all the visiting dead guys?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I agree with Matt.

I will watch the 2nd episode I think but I did not like "The Strain."

I was pretty skeeved out by the show, and not the good kind of skeeved. I am guessing from the Matt whitefont he may agree, but I finished the ep thinking: "this is super gross. I am grossed out and I am not sure I want to watch this week to week."

If you get my meaning, I kind of felt like I did at that end of that notorious X-Files episode "Home."

I mean damn. I don't know if I want to see this again.

Euw, "Home" levels of ick? Glurb.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

that's probably extreme (but that's the closely comparable I can make that I think we all have seen).

Hmm, I managed to not watch the X-Files (so, no good frame of reference) and you've got me wondering whether the Strain on my DVR should be watched before deleting. I read the first book of the series and didn't have a problem, but that's not the same thing as someone presenting me with pictures that I can't remove without extra-strength brainbleach.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

ET, you probably were a bit better prepared for what was to come. I suspect you might handle it better than I did. Especially if Matt's white font is no big deal to you.

No visceral reaction to Matt's wf, no. Guess I'll give at least Ep1 a shot. I'm just getting more selective with the pictures I can let in, e.g. had to give up Hannibal & AHS. Go figure, Haunting Images actually haunting me.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I think you should go for it. I am interested in your reaction as someone who has read the source material.

I also would appreciate spoilers because the show also isn't what I thought it was going to be.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

More weak and predictable

I really hated A.I., and also have a general aversion to anything that combines Halle Berry with science fiction. So really, this show was doomed with me from the get-go. (If DH decides to keep watching I will probably hate-watch with him because I am a masochist like that.)

Oh NO.
