Actually I thought they had plenty of chemistry in season one. Then they made Pete goofier and douchier, and totally spoiled the chemistry - turning it to brother sister at best. Though Pete & Myka never had the chemistry Helena & Myka had.

The thing is, if they had gone the way of forming a platonic family - having a child or two together because Mykes and Pete wanted to have a child with the person they love most even if it wasn't a Great, Sexy Love, I could have seen it eventually taking that left turn from platonic to romance. Eventually. But... they way it was presented was just too unfounded.

Maybe that was originally the plan, but there just wasn't time. So what they gave us was the shorthand version. Still, I really didn't feel it.

That aspect of the finale was reminiscent of Angel/Cordelia to me, with everyone around them telling the two they were in love with each other. At least Myka didn't give birth to an elder god as a result?

Artie's and Claudia's segments did make it a net positive, though.

I too would have dug a platonic family more, WS. I think they're all exceptional enough for that--they clearly love each other, there's no need to hammer it into Love to make happy endings.

Claudia's dance number was a delight (I love when they randomly but well integrate cast talents--Ashmore wasn't bad, but damn, Lattimore was faking his way through the whole thing--props if that was character not actor), but I thought her epilogue a bit clumsy. Maybe she just hadn't had time to sink into the role of Caretaker.

Why can't agents move with the Warehouse? That seems mean. It would be a trivial "sacrifice", considering all they go through on the day to day.

Ah, anyway. Closure of some sort was needed, even if it was a bit rushed. I am def curious about how everyone else integrated back into the real world, though.

I thought that "if I had a nickel for every time the Warehouse almost moved" comment in the epilogue meant that it hadn't moved this time and none of our people had to go back to the real world.

Why can't agents move with the Warehouse?

It seems to me that the vast majority of artifacts were coming from the US. If half the reason for the Warehouses to be in the Superpower of the day was that that was the nation which could best protect the magic, sentient, secret Warehouse then what if the other, unstated half of the reason was that most of the new artifacts would be made in that Superpower? If so, then it makes a great deal of sense that New Warehouse = New Agents. On the other hand, who trains 'em? There's no transition time?

And I don't buy Secret Service agents learning that the US is no longer The Superpower and having nothing, nada, zip, zilch to say on the topic beyond "wah, wah, I don't want to be reassigned to a normal duty station so the Warehouse can't mooooooooooove." Pete, I'm looking at you.

A belated thought on Paul. I agree with the criticism of the actor playing him, but at the same time the character is kind of a leaf in the wind, no? When he was Beth's monitor and she loved him and he did not love her (plus she suffered depression and drug addiction) he took the side of Dyad which was clearly stronger. Then when he was with Sarah, he had emotions for her and ended siding with her against Dydad. Although Dyad was still stronger rationally, Sarah was right there and her overwhelming personality and proximity made her the emotionally stronger part of his life. Mixed loyalty to Sarah survived a while, but when she was gone long enough he wavered back all the way to Dyad, especially Rachel. Until he Mrs. S. and then her overwhelming charisma was much as the arguments that caught between Rachel and Leakey he needed a "new friend" swayed him to not try and take Sarah. Again he gave in the person who affected him *emotionally* as the stronger person. Leaf in the wind. So the whole "blank" thing may be deliberate, except it would take a better actor than he is to convey that nuance. Ironically Tatiana has the acting chops to play Paul as I've envisioned him. (I suspect I'm not that far from the writers' intent.) Unfortunately clone Paulina would not fit as well into the story.

Also I wonder if Rachel is going to be continue to be pure enemy from now on, or whether she will occasionally collaborate with clone club as an unreliable ally/friendemy.

I am now envisaging Paul being replaced by Dean Pelton in "Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design".

Heh, Billytea. Rachel has now lost three parents to Dyad, her Mother, Father and Mentor (even though her Mentor was also the murderer of her other parents). Her Mother is dead. Seeing her father again is likely to lead to him being dead, and even if that obstacle was removed, he is a broken man. I don't know if she knows that Leakey is dead, but even if she never knows that for sure, she knows he is lost to her. Also, though Helena killed Daniel, he was more loyal to Leakey than to her, something she is bitter about. So in a way she lost Daniel (who she mourned and appears to have loved) to Dyad long before he died.

So really strong motives to turn against Dyad. Of course she has been a corporate power player for a long time - so we will have to see what her controlling passion is. Still,she seems capable of love and mercy and of putting them before her self-interest and before the interests of Dyad. That does not speak well of her long terms prospects inside Dyad Group.
