THAT NEVER HAPPENED.
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
THAT NEVER HAPPENED.
Well, no. You couldn't really call it work. It was more like a directed hobby.
EEEEEEE That was awesome! Slade! Flash! Mask!
I will admit, almost all I know of Solomon Grundy is from one episode of JLU (I think it was JLU, it was one of those) but I'm very fond of him.
I am still kind of half believing that Shado isn't really dead either because that was super weak.
I loved it a lot, but on looking back, I'm a bit disturbed that both named character who died in the episode were characters of colour. This show is already way too white, and now we're down to Diggle and that's it. Hmmm.
Another Easter Egg: The TV reporter was Linda Park.
I noticed that.
I like to think of this as fix-it-fanfiction for Revolution [link]

I'm not disagreeing with you about the show being too white, but doesn't Sebastian Blood also count as a character of colour?

I don't think so? I know Kevin Alejandro is of Mexican descent, but I'd consider him a white Hispanic. And I don't see any evidence from the show that says Sebastian Blood is supposed to be anything but white, which Alejandro's blond curls and blue eyes do nothing to discourage. It would be like saying Cameron Diaz's characters on screen count as characters of colour.
I did learn that Manu Bennett (Slade) is part Maori on his father's side, so Slade might be considered a CoC. It'd be nice if the show acknowledged that heritage though.
So, seriously. How many villains do we have on board this season anyway?
We have Slade --> Sebastian Blood --> Cyrus Gold/Solomon Grundy.
Then there are Ra's al Ghul and the League of Assassins, which are connected to Malcolm Merlyn and Sara Lance.
Ivo connected to both of those threads.
ARGUS and Amanda Waller. Connected to H.I.V.E? Deadshot is still alive and may figure in there somewhere.
Isabel Rochev as a wild card who will probably turn out to be more than meets the eye.
With so many balls in the air, I'm frankly amazed that the show hasn't collapsed from the weight of it all. It's doing some incredible juggling act. I thought League of Assassins was going to be the Big Bad this season, but after this ep, it has to be Slade Wilson, no? Except Slade doesn't feel like an adversary that could be defeated in a season. He feels like a multi-season arch-nemesis.
