A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Did no one else notice Abbie threatening to call in the location of the death of Christ, rather than the dudes on horses?
I definitely yelled at my TV, but then let it go. Sometimes the ship has sailed so thoroughly that you just can't spare the energy to fight any more (see also: "prophesize").
I'm not even paying attention to any kind of plotline at this point. I'm just watching the characters. They could throw in Darth Vader and I'd be all, Cool plot twist, bros! Gimme s'more popcorn.
My brain on Sleepy Hollow:
Ooh. Witty banter. I love these writers.
Bottled water argument is totally bogus. You're from England, Ichabod honey, and it's unlikely you ever willingly drank water in your life. Most people drank only beer or cider, because they viewed water as actively dangerous. This was true in cities, particularly in the Old World, because of raw sewage dumped into the water supply.
Headless Guy has adapted to modern weapons remarkably well for someone without a head. He appears to still be using supernatural power, since that's a shotgun and he has yet to reload.
Dead Guy is protecting Abby? Also, pretty funny for a dead guy.
Ichabod and the Internet: comedy gold.
UV light is not the same as sunlight.
If there's arsenic in the municipal water in Sleepy Hollow I'm in serious trouble.
I agree the UV light was a bit "Summers blood".
And Jefferson's wife died before he ever got together with Sally Hemmings (who was probably her half sister, which has always sort of blown my mind).
Oh, I thought Abby's tap water aversion was supposed to be a thing about her, not a real thing about tap water. Though Ichabod's suggestion that they drink from the lake....ew.
Loved all the fakeout skulls in the tunnels, and Ichabod using a computer, and lecturing kids at the museum (THIS show, lecturing anyone about history, comedy gold!)
I expected Crane to ask the girl on the computer some questions about modern life, then Hubby said, "He'd need a credit card."
My favorite line: "Well, that's wildly inappropriate."
(THIS show, lecturing anyone about history, comedy gold!)
This was also excellent. He's so adorably stuffy when he's offended.
To be precise, DNA shows that Sally Hemmings' descendants are also descendants of a Jefferson male.
I can see why they went the UV way, it was kind of late in the ep to cover tracking down a witch with the wherewithal, convince her (him), and get it set up.
I liked they took the time to tell Ichabod about the other side of Jefferson.
To be precise, DNA shows that Sally Hemmings' descendants are also descendants of a Jefferson male.
And the childrens' birth dates line up pretty cleanly with when he was home - I can deal with that much short hand.
