That's disturbing. You're emotionally scarred and will end up badly.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

How is it that the Marvel movies and comics are so good, while DC's movies are meh and their comics are sucking ass right now, but Mavel's S.H.I.E.L.D. on TV is meh and DC's Arrow is way better than it has any right to be?

IT DOES NOT COMPUTE.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

This is probably incorrect, because it's based on the idea that the audience is made up of comic readers, but maybe since those readers are so satisfied with the comics, SHIELD isn't doing it for them, and the readers who find the DC comics to be of the suck, are finding relief in Arrow?

That said, I tried to watch an ep of Arrow and I just couldn't. It was bad, so bad. Beyond bad. I'm hearing rave reviews nowadays, but, when I watched, so very, very bad. But I don't want to turn this into a show vs. show discussion, so I be shutting up now.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I really like the second season direction for Arrow, but if I could only have one of them, I would take SHIELD. I find Arrow amusing, but less interesting. For me they don't have equivalent potential either.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Man, I want to love SHIELD, but I am not feeling it. But Arrow is better than it has any right to be. Even without all the shirtless workouts (of which there were NONE tonight; don't think I didn't notice that).

t edit Which is to say, if I could only have one, it would be Arrow in a heartbeat. No question.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Does this link work? [link] I love this cast!

Oooh, Fox has posted 8 minutes of Karl Urban's new robotic-cop show (not to be confused with RoboCop). [link]

Looks pretty cool, actually.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I enjoy Arrow and Shield both, but don't really think either of them are good. Which raises questions about my definition of "good" I'm not sure I'm ready to answer. Cause given it it is entertainment if I enjoy them, why don't I consider them "good"?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Love Sleepy Hollow cast! The real charm of the show is the people/characters.

Almost Human looks like it'll be dreadful. I'll watch at least the pilot, though, because Karl Urban. I watched the movie Doom for him!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Love Sleepy Hollow cast! The real charm of the show is the people/characters.

Agreed. I adore Sleepy Hollow despite the historical inaccuracies, plot holes, etc. because they got me to care about the characters right out of the gate. The cast has incredible chemistry.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I haven't watched Arrow yet. But I'm enjoying SHIELD. And I'm loving Sleepy Hollow. I agree with Anne that Sleepy Hollow's real strength is in casting. In SHIELD Ming-Na Wen and Clark Gregg are great, but I'm less engaged when the rest of the team is on screen. And it's an ensemble show, so. But some of them are starting to grow on me, and I like it well enough to see how it develops.
