I haven't watched Arrow yet. But I'm enjoying SHIELD. And I'm loving Sleepy Hollow. I agree with Anne that Sleepy Hollow's real strength is in casting. In SHIELD Ming-Na Wen and Clark Gregg are great, but I'm less engaged when the rest of the team is on screen. And it's an ensemble show, so. But some of them are starting to grow on me, and I like it well enough to see how it develops.
'Dirty Girls'
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I feel like SHIELD isn't living up to its potential yet, but Arrow and Sleepy Hollow are both exceeding expectations.
I'll certainly give Almost Human a watch. I keep mixing the title up with Being Human, though.
This is kind of random: A fundraising challenge involving properties filming in BC. Bates Motel (which I have not seen) raised the most, almost three times as much as SPN, which--we're the charity fandom! How shaming is that?
Almost Human came in at 5, which is pretty damned good for a show with no fanbase yet. I wonder if it was cast and crew...
I'd be willing to bet that a lot of the crew for Almost Human came from Fringe with Joel Wyman.
Things have been busy, so I'm often not home until after 8:00, which means seeing SHIELD or Arrow is iffy. sigh ....
And I love the picture of the Sleepy Hollow cast (note Ichabod's posture - spectacular, right?). But how Katrina isn't falling out of her dress is one of the big mysteries.
Hey, magic's good for more than pickling your injured husband.
This is more practical.
Hey: Ask The Sleepy Hollow Costumer--maybe they've covered period Hot Topic.
I figured tape (I once saw a demonstration on TV of how to use duct tape for uplift ... you really can use duct tape for just about anything).
Um, this:
Consider this – let’s say you are an American woman, and you are dropped in the middle of Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia. Are you going to immediately want to wear a burqa? It’s not your custom. It’s not comfortable. It’s not who you are.
In most of Saudi Arabia, going outside without an abaya/niqab/hijab can get you arrested for indecency. So maybe not the best example of why Ichabod hasn't switched to polar fleece and sweat pants.
On the other hand, if I only had one outfit, I would probably seek to acquire additional clothes in which I was comfortable.
