Saffron: But we've been wed. Aren't we to become one flesh? Mal: Well, no, uh... We're still two fleshes here, and I think that your flesh ought to sleep somewhere else.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's modern-ish in music and dress. I guess it depends on where you draw the line between Actual AU and Just Bad At History.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hm. While that's an interesting question, I'm not going watch Reign so I can offer an opinion...

Because books.

I'm going to watch tomorrow (I was watching Runway tonight) so I could weigh in then. I think it does have a slightly paranormal aspect, doesn't it? With Nostradamus?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

With Nostradamus?

When I saw the commercial, I asked Tim, "Wait, THE Nostradamus?"

Tim: "Is there another? Joe Nostradamus?"

Oh yeah, Nostradamus is in this! Having visions and shit.

It's like a less well-executed period OC. At least, that's what I'm hoping. The pilot was fun.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

It does have Anne of Green Gables as Catherine de Medici. But Betsy & others were over on LJ mocking the costuming, which is jaw-droppingly modern.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm not that much into Hoot&Point.

jaw-droppingly modern.

It's kind of half-assedly modern on purpose. Like they weren't going to do it that way originally, but then they realized period clothes were going to be too hard.

Watching Reign now, and wow. The costumes are a bit brow-raising. It is fun, though. I like Mary.

Compassionately intolerant

The costumes are a bit brow-raising.

In the ballroom scene, I thought, "Wow. Vera Wang has been in business for a looooong time."
