Does anybody else miss the Mayor? 'I just want to be a big snake.'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Prince Phillip was dead ... he got better. I don't remember quite how, but he's back among the living.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Probably.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Also, there's really no mystery about where they went.

Which is where? I'm just curious, and I am not that knowledgeable about this period of history.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Which is where?

Here's [link] a good historical summary.

The short version: The colonists had established friendly relations with the Indians on Croatoan (modern day Hatteras). The members of the so-called "lost colony," including Gov. John White's daughter and son-in-law and their new baby, Virginia Dare, were left at a camp at Roanoke with the intention that they would find a more suitable place for a colony. Because of weather, White had to return immediately to England and was planning to come back the next spring with supplies. He told them to carve their new location on a tree. Due to a series of problems with getting supplies and ships, White didn't return for three years. He found the word Croatoan carved on a tree and knew the colonists must have gone to the island and the safety of friendly Indians. He tried to get there, but was unable to because of weather. When a ship finally visited the island a hundred years later, it found a tribe that included light-skinned, gray-eyed members and that used some European tools.

Wow, the new Ollie-narrated opening for Arrow is kind of clunky and off-putting.

But man, I loves me some Diggle. ("Don't look at me; my alter ego is his black driver.")

And t DC Comics geek I know the new alderman isn't *Jason* Blood, but I swear I keep thinking "Etrigan!" t /DC Comics geek

t edit And one more thing: can we just skip how ever many episodes we have to endure before Ollie starts training Roy? With Diggle? Shirtless? I don't need the narrative arc, really. I'm good.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Brother Blood is a different DC villain.
