What? I'm not allowed to hit people? Wesley: Not people capable of genocide. Angel: Those are exactly the types of people I should be allowed to hit!

'Just Rewards (2)'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I was thinking the hospital would have a field day with Crane's blood panels. I was wondering about the smallpox inoculation as well.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

QI also says that being drunk increases your rate of survival for most bad injuries. The more you know.

I was glad that they had the colony disappear after Thomas returned, it nicely resolved the "How have they been unfound for 400 years? How are they surviving?" etc. Roanoke is Brigadoon. Though I wonder if they're in a purgatory like Katrina.

And I enjoyed Ichabod showing off his mad skillz.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Q&A with the cast & crew of Sleepy Hollow.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Noooo! Mimosa pudica opens within seconds after closing, and isn't hardy to northeastern America /hort rant

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Q&A with the cast & crew of Sleepy Hollow.

How much do I love Orlando Jones? So much. So very, very much.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

juliana, that was my exact thought upon reading his answers. They all sound like smart funny people, which bodes well for the series.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Old English, the language of Beowulf, was a close cousin of Old German. Middle English, the language of Chaucer, kept some German-like pronunciation. For example, enough ended in that strangled Germanic K. IIRC, the scholarship that determined how Old and Middle English were pronounced, based on things like rhyme schemes, post-dates Ichabod.

THANK YOU.

I... I came here just to be reassured that I wasn't the only one who was twitching?

Also, I think I prefer the Supernatural solution. Which, come to think of it, wasn't all that different. But had some great bro mos.

FWIW, I can't think of any other TV show that's used Old English, even if it wasn't period-correct. ::still twitches::

Hubby was enjoying showing off his knowledge of Germanic languages. "Why are they bothering with subtitles? Everybody understands that, right?" "No, sweetheart, they don't." "Well, they should." "Hush and watch already."
