Wash: Captain, didn't you know kissin' girls makes you sleepy? Mal: Well sometimes I just can't help myself.

'Our Mrs. Reynolds'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Is that supposed to be a flashback to Ye Olden Times? Because wow, not historically accurate at all.

No, we actually saw her in an appropriately cover-y blouse with her hair up and in a mob-cap (that's what we call those poofy gathered hats, right?) in the scenes in 1700-whatever. My conjecture is that because he's her husband, she can appear to him (that was her appearing to him in a dream, BTW) in a top that brief and with her hair all loose - he'd have been the only person to see her like that in life. That's my handwave, and I'm stickin' to it.

But seriously, it was better than I expected. You'll probably enjoy it.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I liked Sleepy Hollow a lot. It's my first new season pass.

Although the woman needs to buy a damned hair brush. It annoyed me that it kept falling out of her ponytail holder. I despise that whole sloppy hair and clothes to make a beautiful woman seem "practical" or "tough".

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So she had that kit somewhere? Those pieces are appropriate components?

Those pieces are appropriate components?

Ahahahahaha. No.

Then I think I'm comfortable with my "sexy witch costume" knee jerk response.

I liked a *lot* about the episode, and it's a definite season pass--I'm theirs to lose.

John Cho was *brill*. I was pretty sure he wouldn't make it far, but I'd hope they wouldn't do it this soon--maybe ep 3, dammit. But him scanning the room, seeing no one, and then the Horseman getting up from the chair? Fucking on the nose funny and impending oh-shittery of one sort or another.

Compassionately intolerant

The soft-focus, horned-evil crashing into the mirror from the other side elicited an actual "EEP" out of me.

I'm not much for jumpy-outy horror...like, at all...but it was framed in such a way that the sceeery bits were enjoyable for me. Quite a feat.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I can fan wank the "sexy witch costume". Wifely is alive in her original (probably unaged) body, but is trapped in that she can only remember who she is in her dreams. Because her essential self is still there, she is probably Goth, or into new agey occultism or some such - so the "sexy witch costume" is something she owns now, in the 21st century. Probably this theory will be smashed to smithereens within one or two episodes.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Me too! I enjoyed it despite its silliness and anachronisms.
