Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Good one, Anne.

Via wikipedia:

At the time of Baker's casting as Davison's successor, he became the only "Doctor" actor to have appeared in the television series as another character prior to taking on the leading role. When Baker was cast to replace Davison, many fans cited that shooting scene in Arc of Infinity, prompting Baker to say jokingly that he got the part of the Doctor by killing the incumbent.

It seems that, if _his_ previous role was incorporated into his tenure, it would have appeared in this article.

Though, it seems like Capaldi's role was large enough and recent enough to be at least a bit awkward.

It would be great, and charmingly fan-served, to incorporate the previous role somehow.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

This also reminds me of the mega crossover when 10 "met" Gwen from Torchwood and recognized her as the ghost channeler from 9's season.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's not like Karen Gillan hadn't appeared on the show before.

There are only so many actors. Sometimes you loop around.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Remember how S8 of Supernatural ended AND IT WAS IRRELEVANT THAT THEY RE-USED EVERYONE THAT EVER APPEARED ON THE SHOW EVER?

Yeah. That.

When your show is also the audition for your show¹--someting *is* wibbley wobbley with your timey wimey.

¹: We need to go deeper--cast these people in the movie version of Supernatural that's being made in the dimension where Misha is dead.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Enjoying the current season of Being Human but:

The Devil is too silly for words, sillier than the time travel. I don't know why just making him a demon instead of *the* devil, would be less silly, but it feels like it would. At least to me, can't speak for other others.

I'm really having trouble being convinced that Hal has all these women swooning over him. Mitchell, the season one vampire had loads of sexual charisma . But this guy, I'm having trouble buying it. But maybe it is just me, and everyone else finds him hot. Quite honestly, I find the werewolf much more charismatic - both the character and the actor.

The werewolf character might be cute at times, because he's sweet, but he's not attractive because he's dumb.

Okay, I am the 180 of shipping Sterek, but this picture [link] is so perfect I wish I'd done it for my OTP. Ah, well.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

They've been reusing actors since the time of Hartnell.

It happens.

Best part about the casting: being able to introduce people to Malcolm Tucker. Mwahahahaha.
