I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Shoot, I remember thinking about the soundtrack but I can't remember why. But I think I'm leaning towards both. The crack-addled brilliance works for me.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The second ep ended with a slow montage over "Come As You Are" (which was weird just on its face and then doubly so as the lyric "No I don't have a gun" was repeated over and over and over, over shots of people who do, in fact, have guns) and the most recent one ended with a slow montage over "Ooh Child" (used incredibly literally with shots of surrogate parents telling their grown children that it was going to get easier).

I..I don't understand these choices, but I think I love them.

Oh, yes, "Come As You Are" jumped out at me because I love that song primarily for the bass line, which was not evident in that version. And then the whole gun thing, which was odd.

Yeah, the musical choices are bonkers but they are working for me.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Arrow: I'm continuing to catch up on the series, but I'm still a few episodes behind. I love that Felicity is in on the secret and continues to be so wonderfully competent.

I didn't see Tommy finding out so early coming. I don't like how closely Tommy's story seems to track with Lex Luthor's from Smallville.

I love Helena as a villain.

I love everything about her. She rocks my socks. (And I think she and Digg TOTALLY have chemistry, despite Digg getting with his brother's widow.)

I really don't want Tommy to turn evil. (And I have no idea if he will; I'm too lazy to find spoilers.) I love him.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I think she pretty much has chemistry with everyone she is in a scene with. She had a lot of chemistry with the Walter. And, speaking of which, someone please tell me he comes back. I really liked him. I totally expect the brother's widow to die tragically at some point.

I also meant to say, I do think the writing improved from what it was in the first few episodes, but the dialogue is still occasionally painfully predictable.

And I'm still wishing Paul Blackthorne was given more to do.
