You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

The end of Vikings would have been more compelling if those snakes in the pit hadn't really obviously been non-poisonous boa constrictors and pythons.

Still, I was a bit surprised they disposed of Earl Haraldson so fast. (And what was his name, anyway, other than Son of Harald?)

As for Ragnar, the very first thing he should have done was marry off Siddy and her daughter to two of his supporters, so they would owe him. Leaving them alone for Rollo to snap up was just bad politics.

I saw that, Tom! I'm so excited! It's one of my favorite books of the last decade.

hip deep in pie

That should be cool. I'm really interested in who will be cast.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Yeah, I just read the whole comments section of that article, which was casting suggestions. I dunno.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm confused because I thought they already announced they were doing a miniseries last year. That was part of the reason I finally read it! I'm looking forward to the miniseries.

I have the horrible mental image of Speaker-to-Animals being rendered by the same SFX people who were to blameresponsible for the Garfield movies.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't know how to feel about that. Well, I disliked Ringworld an awful lot, so I just don't care what happens with that adaptation. But I just can't imagine Childhood's End as a movie, I remember it as being very, I don't know, general? Abstract? Stuff happened to the whole world, not to particular characters. Though it is a bit mixed up with Olaf Stapledon's Star Maker in my head, due to a class I took in college, maybe CE is more cinematic than I remember.

I think that visually, Childhood's End could be really interesting. But narratively? Ehhh.

I'm not enthusiastic about Ringworld. I have a sinking suspicion the Suck Fairy visited Larry Niven in the years since I read him with enthusiasm. Although I'm intrigued by the idea that they could do a CGI/puppetry version of a Pierson's Puppeteer. Those dudes are weird looking. No faces!
