Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

(Random irrelevant fandom watching: Now Sterek shippers have sent hundreds of cookies to the cast, and some people think it's creepy pressure, and others think they're repairing their bad rep or just doing something nice (Yeah, pics of the showrunner with your ship name across him--you've got loads of passive in your aggressive). They even, like, have a name. It's like the Kittens all over again, but with a less misleading moniker--SterekCampaign front loads the cray))

(I can't help looking...)

Another threefer:

I sent my sister an article about Danai Gurira, so she dove into the series with abandon. Not much of a zombie fan (she scared way easily as a kidlet), she was still getting involved, and gushed at me about the racial diversity of the show.

That was a long time ago. She's just finishing up S2, and homeslice is PISSED. On the one hand--Michonne. On the other--oops, T-Dog, we knew you...wait, what was your surname again?

She sent me this from the AV Club, which is her go to as a time machine for viewer/fandom zeitgeist, a T-Dog drinking game:

If T-Dog manages to even show up in the episode: Pour your drink
If T-Dog is seen in the background or periphery of a shot: Take a sip
If T-Dog is foregrounded in a shot: Take 2 sips
If T-Dog reacts to something said by another character: Take 3 sips
If T-Dog is spoken to by another character: Take a drink
If T-Dog has a line that includes a black person cliche like "Aw, HELL no!": Take a drink, then spit it back out
If T-Dog has a line that does not include a black person cliche: Toast to T-Dog, then take a drink
If T-Dog has more than two consecutive lines that do not occur in a scene in which he is talking to himself but, in fact, actually occur in a manner that might make the viewer believe that T-Dog is, believe it or not, being engaged in conversation with a character whose name you actually know: Take 2 drinks
If T-Dog engages in behavior that will have significant consequences down the line (e.g., he kills a zombie; he shoots someone; he discovers that Randall has escaped the barn): Do a shot
If T-Dog prevents someone else from doing something that will have significant consequences down the line (e.g. I can't think of an example because when has this actually happened?): Do 2 shots
If T-Dog has a B or C storyline dedicated entirely to him: Chug your drink
If T-Dog has an A storyline dedicated entirely to him: You might as well shoot up and OD with your drug of choice because, let's face it, the likelihood of this actually happening is on par with the likelihood of the actual zombie apocalypse being started by a rabid monkey

Poor boo. At least she's nearly at Michonne, and I told her about impending Tyrese, so I think she'll buck up a bit.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

On the other--oops, T-Dog, we knew you...wait, what was your surname again?

Er...Tyrone Dogson? I don't even know.

My reply to her email included:

Jeff Winger: This decision has to be yours, T-Bone. And this decision has to be yes.
Troy: How did you know my nickname was T-Bone?
Jeff Winger: Because you're a football player and your name begins with "T." Your name... begins... with "T."

Do we know the last names of anyone on the show that isn't a Grimes?

I always think Hershel is Hershel Walker.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Hershel and his family are the Greenes.

Darryl and Merle are the Dixons.

Not sure about any of the others.

Thing about T-Dog, we don't know his first name either. That is a unique honour to be afforded a (formerly) living person.

But why not Tyrone? It's got a feel to it.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

IIRC, T-Dog's first name was Theodore.
