'The Message'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

In the last episode, the fleet finds earth just in time to watch the Vogons demolish it to build their interstellar highway?

Art Crawl!!!

Is the white font all about Doctor Who airing in the UK?

BSG: I can't believe I forgot to mention the death of Matthias! That was so sad.

I hope that they address where Hera is soon. Can they really have forgotten her?

Moonlight: It's been good since it's return. Lots of fun. Beth asking Josef to off the photographer - I wouldn't have expected her to go there at the beginning of the season. Of course, they totally confuse me by having a character named Logan who is NOT Josef. . .if you know what I mean.

All is well that ends in pizza.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Dr Who 4x5: they mentioned and gave a location for the Brigadier!

The trailer for next week seemed interesting, too

Of course the continuity fairies have more 'splaining to do...

Art Crawl!!!

Can we identify shows we're whitefonting so as not to spoil us non-downloading folks?

Thanks!

BTW, NBC is going to do some sort of horror collection of shows/miniseries - and I read that our own cferg is going to be in one of them. (Jesse Plemons from FNL is going to be in one too.)

Dr. Who 4.5

"Are you my mummy?" HA!!

I liked this one. I found myself getting a little het up about those damn arrogant Sontarans. Like, "When are we gonna kick their asses??!" het up. It's possible a fist may have attempted to pump when the tide started to turn .

Fiona, yes I did notice Rose on the screen calling the Doctor .

From the promo, is there previous Who history behind the Doctor having a daughter ?

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

JenP, promo spoilers for 4x06 i don't think so. i'm pretty sure it's canon from the old series that the Doctor had a granddaughter or something though. so i suppose he would've had to have had a son or a daughter at some point. all the spec i'm seeing is based on fandom wishes though. "it's Rose and the Doctor's daughter" a la some kind of A Time Traveller's Wife shtick or "OMG! it's the Doctor and Reinette's daughter!", which, WTF??

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

And (4x06 promo) the Doctor mentioned that he was a father once in "Fear Her."

All is well that ends in pizza.

At the Maker Faire today, it was announced that a new MacGyver film may be in the works.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Why oh why am I reading DW spoilers. Anyway: When we first meet The Doctor, way back in the '60s, he's traveling with his ostensibly teenage granddaughter, Susan Forman. I say "ostensibly" because it's entirely possible she's older than the teenager she appears to be, and she's certainly smarter than a human teenager. Not to mention she demonstrates at least some psychic powers. Also, it's been brought up that they might not really be grandparent and granddaughter, although that's always seemed a bit like reaching for me, and the "I was a dad once" line seems to seal the deal. After a couple years, she falls in love with a freedom fighter in our future and, when it seems she's about to choose to stay and take care of her grandfather rather than be with the man she loves, The Doctor makes the choice for her and leaves her there. There's been a bit more in the novels, Virgin Magazine, etc., but those don't really appear to be canon.
