'Objects In Space'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I'm not saying that she's not pretty, because she is. I'm just saying that she's not a woman you look at and say "wow", which is what I would expect for someone to get cast on looks alone, or to keep getting work with so little acting talent.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And I'm saying I've seen a good chunk of guys in the demographics the CW seems to chase (that lovely 18-34, or whatever) say "Wow!" They're not casting women on looks alone for you or me--they're doing it to get a decent amount of those eyeballs.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

KK was great in Eurotrip, and decent enough in Chuck. I think the issue is people keep putting her in dramas. I maintain that she needs a Joss type writer to bring out the best in her, because there is potential there.

I think she'd be awesome in a genre comedy, frankly. But I've got a total soft spot for her.

I can't say I share that estimation of her talent--I've never bought a single character I've seen her play, including in those two properties. She's just a pretty woman they ask to use a vaguely soft voice most of the time.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh, snerk -- Cracked.com's Christina H did a masterful takedown of Revolution.

OK, 9 of them are Revolution.

You know, I want to like 666 Park Ave, but the people are just monumentally stupid. I was afraid of this.

Stupid: It's what's on TV this fall.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

TVD is entertaining me again. For some reason, I find the scenes of Elena vomiting blood extremely amusing. And invisible tattoo guy is interesting.

I can't keep my vampire lore straight - in this version, does holy water do anything?

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Apparently not, given Damon's entrance to the funeral service.

eta: Unless the daylight rings address that as well - but I don't think so...if the daylight rings were like the Gem of Amara, then wood and vervain wouldn't hurt them either.

And on TVD, is it just me, or did everyone think that erasing April's memory was a dumb choice? I mean, sure, give her a little vampire blood so she doesn't die, but then have her go to the cops with the story of the SOB who stabbed her at her Dad's funeral. I think if the human authorities, as well as the resident vampires, were after him, he wouldn't be blithely sitting in the diner assessing which of the few humans left to torture for info next.

He said something about it, that it was always funny, something like that. I didn't completely catch it, I was distracted by noticing that he crossed himself in the Orthodox fashion rather than Catholic. I couldn't remember if anyone used it as a weapon or not.

Yeah, erasing April's memory seems like it could cause problems down the road, but that was more abot Elena being able to glamour her (or whatever they call it. Too many vampires with different lore!)
