I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

And I really want to know how the Magical Hoodie of Justice stays up during the fights and parkour.

Would it make any sense at all to someone who has no background knowledge of the comics?

I've never read Green Arrow, and I followed along fine. Missed the references, of course, but even without that depth, I got it.

Because of the Magical, naturally. (Or, unnaturally.)

Maybe because of the Abs?

Please do, Steph!

The Abs did seem magical, too.

Unrelatedly, I was really disappointed when Bad Bald Guy's new head of security (the one who looked like he just stepped off the runway from fashion week) turned out to NOT have a Russian accent. (That's not comic book stuff; just my own amusing-to-me commentary while I watched. He just *seemed* like he should be Russian or vaguely Eastern European.)

This is all characters --

Speedy: in the comic, the original Speedy was Green Arrow's teenage boy sidekick, much like Robin. And he developed a drug problem (heroin, IIRC) when he got older. But he got through it, and he eventually aged out of being the sidekick, and no longer went by the name Speedy. After some time passed (years, but I don't know how many), Green Arrow ended up taking on a new sidekick, who was a girl, and she ended up also taking the name Speedy. AFAIK, she did NOT have a drug problem. So having TV Speedy be a girl is kind of awesome, and the drug thing just made me laugh, because it felt like the TV show was determined to get their parallels on.

Tommy Merlin: in the comic, Merlyn (note the spelling) is an archer who is Green Arrow's nemesis. Actually, I don't know how the TV character's name is spelled -- maybe it is Tommy Merlyn. I maybe shoulda looked that up. Anyway, given his comic-book parallel, the possibilities REALLY intrigue me.

Laurel: in the comic, as in the TV show, her full name is Dinah Laurel Lance, which Tommy said at the end (generally referred to in the comic as Dinah), and is Black Canary, superhero in her own right and on-again, off-again romantic interest of Green Arrow.

I think that's it as far as the characters go. For now.

Archery I could buy, but how does one learn parkour and untraceable computer hacking on a deserted island?
