Emotionally Bo is the dimwitted high school cheerleader with big boobs and low self-esteem. Emotionally Dyson is the entitled jerk jock who can treat women decently if they just have casual sex, but becomes emotionally abusive in any serious relationship. (Note: referring to stereotypes here -not actual people. Not saying real cheerleaders and jocks are like that. Saying Bo and Dyson are adult characters who are written with a lot of similarities to those particular stereotypes)

Hmm - maybe abusive is too strong. More than emotionally unavailable. Someone who sets terms and does not live up to them (with Bo). Who does not show basic relationship courtesy, even sex only relationship courtesy - with the Nymph. (When he lost her number and started seeing Bo, he did not even bother to try and track her number down again to tell her it was over.) Who misleads a woman he is not in love with into believing he is in love with her. (Actually the word for that is lying. Telling the literal truth while omitting relevant facts in a way you know will be misunderstood for purposes of deceit is lying, and I think people who do it in a court of law have been convicted of perjury. That is why the oath includes the words "the WHOLE truth".)

That is not abuse in the sense that someone would go to a women's shelter to escape it. But it is a lot more than emotional unavailability. It is causing emotional harm by moving goalposts, hurtful discourtesy, and lying about serious relationship issues. So if not abuse, definitely a jerk.

I've got suspicions, with Trick being so very helpful with his dead wife's possessions. Certainly the vibe he gives off to Bo is very fatherly, anyway.

I honestly didn't expect to like the series. I've got a soft spot for the original movie, mostly because of MJF and innocent goofy fun, but didn't see how that could extend into a continuing story.

No, she's adopted. I've long suspected that he's her father.

It would also make sense that it's why she's adopted. A dark fae/light fae baby would make for some issues.

How does fandom get infected? Is Teen Wolf taking over LJ like it has tumblr? The Sherlock/Supernatural people who were pretty worked up over Avengers, and surprisingly less so over Hunger Games went ballistic over Teen Wolf shortly before the second season started, and they've been going strong ever since.

And now the Sterek actors are shamelessly whoring their ship in order to get Teen Choice votes...it's cracking me up. I can't remember the last time I've seen a slash ship go at it this hard, and y'all know I'm in SPN. They are...incorrigible. And naughty.

It's a lot of fun, though. And I'm sad to say I'm happy that it has more than one het ship (well...one's on rocky ground, but there were two among the main group for a while...who does that???) going on, lots of charisma, and manages to be pretty creepy for that little show on MTV. With a 24 episode S3.

I'm wondering if the relative dearth of slashable pairings has anything to do with this, and if things might change once Finnick arrives on the scene and Gale takes a larger role.

ETA: I don't think it means that people liked TGH any less. I simply wonder if having a pairing (or two) to squee over tends to generate internet content at a greater pace than other things one might like about a show or movie.
