You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It would have to be timed right, for instance if Otis had brought her in, but didn't get to tell Hershel before he set out to get the supplies with Shane.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It was Otis, right. You have reminded me.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

But WTF...didn't they all know that the new group was looking for a young girl?

I don't buy that bullshit.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I hope there's some sort of explanation in the next episode.

That being said, while I expected Sophie to be dead, logically, I kind of figured that, this being television, they would eventually find her magically alive. And even though it's abundantly clear the walkers are nothing of their former selves, the show very effectively made the slaughter of everyone in the barn feel like a terrible, horrific thing, and so when Sophie walked out...that was a goddamn hardcore resolution to this storyline, and I have to give the show props.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I didn't recognize Harry Groener playing Jiminy Cricket's dad last night on Once Upon a Time.

I didn't either! Huh.

For the record, Pinocchio isn't a fairy tale. (even if there's technically a fairy in it. Same for Peter Pan.) I just get peeved when people (not you, just in general) mis-classify stuff like that.

And I didn't recognize Groener either.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

For the record, Pinocchio isn't a fairy tale.

Neither is 101 Dalmations, but they still went there with the name of Jiminy's dog. I think ABC is basically milking its Disney connections for all they're worth.

Even though it has its issues, I'm very much enjoying Once Upon a Time so far.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Yeah, I agree with Anne. They are mixing up all kinds of shit and myth and legend. I'm ready for Aesop to show up.

Compassionately intolerant

Having a Basselmatian, my eyes instantly latched onto the dog and I had to chuckle over the name. Then, I waited for the inevitable further cliches...fire truck-check! The only things they missed were the 'night howl' and "He's got lots of pups."

FTR, I did recognize Groener, mostly because I have a thing for voices.

This episode was the most riveting to me thus far. I hope that means the writing will continue to improve.

Art Crawl!!!

The other annoying thing about last night's Walking Dead: Shane couldn't shoot the girl? Really? That seemed totally unlikely.

I'm sure he could shoot her, but I figured everyone was letting Rick do it since Sophie had been his responsibility, and he was the one keeping everyone there out of guilt. Although I wondered if they would let Carol do it.
